Serendipity encore.. Carnaby's food forrest..

Yesterday I gave a little peek into the wonder that is the Florence Community Park. You may have glimpsed the colourful walls in the background.. walls covered in the most delightful characters. It's worth embiggening the collage below. The Carnaby's Black Cockatoo, endemic to the south-west of WA, now on the Australian threatened species list due to large scale clearing of land for farming, are always welcome to feast on my bottle-brush tree when in flower, as it is now.. it's the least I can do for these amazing birds. The head artist Marina Lommerse explains here how the park came about, super link showing people enjoying the new space when it was revitalised a few years ago, fab pics of the mural too before the gardens took hold. Serendipity, j'adore 💙 Happy Tuesday and happy Thanksgiving to Canadian readers, take care and stay safe..

  8. What a great little park. The art was very nice on its own but it's even nicer now as you've shown how it's filled in.

My café is still running well, too. Even when Ingo puffs his pipe the birds now dare to grab a bite!

  12. What I like about these murals is how they capture the cockatoos but also give them an individual artistic style that gives them a great dynamic.
