Love.. in the right place.

Looking ahead as we approached the pedestrian bridge into Claisebrook Cove yesterday I thought hey up what's this I see! Yup, it's the old💓-lock thing going on. Before you think oh no it'll get out of control.. fear not. Although Perth can be, and often is, a city of romance and Claisebrook Cove is très jolie.. it's not Paris. If you get carried away and place your lock in an undesignated spot, that declaration of undying love will be whipped away toot sweet! Apart from the sign below I have no basis for that assumption though :)

I couldn't decide which shot to use so both they here are. Happy Friday, take care and stay safe..

  1. I still find them to be visual clutter. A pedestrian bridge here particularly attracts them.

  2. There's a time and a place for everything. Whoever came up with that as a way of selling locks must be a marketing genius.

  3. ...I've never seen this here, I like it!

  4. Ah love....but only in designated areas. Still better than a bubblegum wall!

  5. People will lock up their love once they find it, in the designated area, of course.

  6. Everything is under control in Perth! ;-)
I wish your sister well - that is a painful procedure.

  7. I am not sure if there is a place for love locks.

  8. I too would have struggled choosing which photo to use. Maybe the second one is more interesting.

  9. This looks like a good way to keep it under control. I know I hated seeing how dangerously overdone it was when I was in Paris.

  10. I really think that they are unsightly, but if there is a place that is controlled, then I suppose if people insist on it, then that is the best place for them.
I love my own company and I am actually looking forard to the nest week. Just wish the forecast was a bit warmer though for both of us in both places!! Take care. Diane

  11. I must have no romantic bones in my body because I think the whole love-lock thing is just silly. I do like the idea of controlling the situation.

  12. This is the most stupid action people ever have invented. All those iron locks damage our beautiful bridges in Amsterdam and all other beautiful cities in the world. It is something you just don't do as a guest in a city!

  13. So many ways to declare love. I'm not sure a padlock has quite the warm fuzzy feeling I'd be searching for.

  14. Its a good idea to keep this custom under control.

  15. Oh, that´s a lotta love, Grace :-)
We have some bridges here, too, but our love-lock is in Kwinana. I hope!

  16. But what do they do when the designated area gets too full? A strange custom ... I guess it will pass.

  17. Love locks are the silliest idea than anyone ever came up with. Such a waste of time and money and it damages the bridges.

  18. I really hope it doesn't get out of control with those heavy locks.
I agree with John - whoever invented this custom is making a lot of money for those selling locks.
Hope your sister is recovering well Grace.

  19. I am no fan of this custom, and fortunately it is not common around here. It does make for interesting photos however.
