If you are wondering how it is possible to see the Indiana on the left in the pic above and on the right below it's thanks to the incroyable 360 degree angle of 'The Desert Island'. Constructed for Sculpture by the Sea 2018 using timber frames, steel brackets, plywood and glass mirrors it was designed by Dutch architects Gjøde & Partnere Arkitekter.. the ultimate reflection foil.. So worth watching the short video here of the architect explaining the installation plus the bonus of spectacular views over Cottesloe Beach. Definitely going back to take some shots of this one as the sun goes down tonight. Bon weekend, take care and stay safe.. P.s. you can tell how early in the morning I took these shots by the dark shadows..
Fabulous artwork!
ReplyDeleteAnother fabulous piece Grace.
ReplyDeleteAmazingly Magical - Love It
ReplyDeleteCheers
What a fantastic piece. I loved looking at the video too! Your first photo is pretty spectacular.
ReplyDeleteNot boring!
ReplyDeleteThat is fabulous, Grace! I do worry about birds flying into it though. That is a huge problem here with reflective buildings and windows.
ReplyDeleteWow! That is huge!
ReplyDeleteIt's a long way to Indiana, I'm going to have to get Mr. Jones. :) Beautiful project and beautiful photos, Grace. This is something that I have a hard time conceiving ...how to people do these things. I know I've asked you that before, but still...
ReplyDeleteVery impressive and creative artwork.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Grace, the video explains it well.
ReplyDeleteWee, you become an early bird after all :-)
Btw, after we had Sculpture by the Sea 2015 Ingo´ll get "Straya Day" next time and then the following visit "I win" again :-)
So, next year... I need you presenting it all again!
...I'm thankful for folks with creative minds, this is fabulous!

ReplyDeleteGreat works. Beautiful clicks
ReplyDeleteIt is a huge work. The designers happen to be Danish also a small European country with a strange language like the Dutch :)
ReplyDeleteGosto do efeito destes espelhos.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e bom fim-de-semana.

ReplyDeleteThat's a cool idea, as long as it is only temporarily on the beach.
ReplyDeleteThe video is an extra bonus.
Wow that is amazing, you have so many great photographic subjects near you. Enjoy your Sunday Diane
