After traipsing around Kings Park and the city all day on Tuesday I had zero energy to head back in for the City of Perth Skyworks in the evening. Thankfully my brother-in-law Bill did and has very kindly let me use his captures for the night to highlight the pyrotechnical brilliance of the show. The hard part for me was choosing thirteen out of the 200 fabulous shots he took.. this is the difference between using knees as a tripod and actually using a tripod :) I hope you enjoy, merci beaucoup Bill. Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe... p.s. you have no idea how tempted I was to play with the shot above and add in stems, it sort of looks like a bunch of flowers don't you think!
BIL, Bill, is extremely talented. These are all superb! What a show!
ReplyDeleteThese may just be the best fireworks shots EVER, Grace!
ReplyDeleteYour brother-in-law has a super great sense of timing! These are beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteAmazing shots by Bill! Those fireworks look spectacular.
ReplyDeleteThey are so beautiful that seem unreal.
ReplyDeleteTomás.
Bill sure knows how to handle a camera.
ReplyDeleteHe did a fine job, Grace! What a show that was.
ReplyDeleteVery well done!!!
ReplyDeleteWell done both the photographer and the chooser! I'd have posted 50... :-)
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh, his pictures are amazing! i use my knees too ;)

ReplyDeleteWhat a great firework show for Australia Day. Bill did great a photographing this display.
ReplyDeleteWow! Those pictures are so amazing. I love the way the light is reflected in the water.
ReplyDeleteGosh these are brilliant Grace. The tripod give so much clarity. Wish they weren't so difficult to lug around.
ReplyDeleteWhat a spectacular show. You can't shoot fireworks properly without a tripod. Ours on the Fourth of July go off from the middle of the Mississippi but the water isn't nearly wide enough to get such reflections.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful and spectacular Grace. I've never seen anything like it in the USA even in Washington,D.C. or New York city. At least get yourself one of those travel tripods Grace. You'll find many uses for it. Then there are many other styles of tripods out there also. All depends on how much you want to pay and how you are going to use it.
ReplyDeleteOh well done Bill, beautiful pictures..
ReplyDeleteWow! Amazing fireworks shots! They're hard to get right. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, amazing firework photos, well done Bill!

ReplyDeleteWow, fantastic shots, Grace, brava !
ReplyDeleteI love to watch the fireworks, but this year I saw them from far away in Riverton, and of course no tripod either... Well done to your brother in law.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful show, Grace!
ReplyDeletewell worth the wait...thanks
ReplyDeleteDo you know something? I would have to say that your firework photographs are the best I have ever seen. Honestly!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy fireworks! Bill is quite talented.
ReplyDeleteToo stunning!! Arianna
ReplyDeleteStunning captures, Bill. Thanks for sharing Gracie - I certainly wouldn't battle the 300,000 strong crowd either! That would be my worst nightmare, but lovely to see.
ReplyDeleteSay thanks to Bill for me, Grace. And I hate him.
ReplyDeleteBeau, impressionnant et très belles photos Grace :)
ReplyDeleteTes photos sont nettes, je me demande comment était réglé ton appareil, moi je rate toujours les feux d'artifices.
