Always keeping an eye open for fun reflections I spotted the Central Area Transit aka CAT bus stop on St. Georges Terrace, one of the many stops for the free bus service that travels around the city central business district. The blue, red, yellow and green CAT buses travel along different routes, you can see on the CAT map that the bus that prowls the terrace is green. It's a brilliant service, when Aimee worked in West Perth she would hop on the red CAT and be in the city in minutes.. very handy on a day when it's too hot to walk, or raining. Does your city offer this free service? Have a brilliant weekend, take care and stay safe...
Now that's a neat looking bus shelter! I wish our city did something similar, but no.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great service. I think we have a similar service in downtown Phoenix. I believe it runs through downtown and them goes out to the capital (about 15 blocks) an back. I love the CAT profile that this one uses. Very clever!
ReplyDeleteOh, I agree with William!! A great bus shelter and certainly better than any of ours here to be sure!! I hope you have a great weekend, Grace!! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteFun, Grace
ReplyDeleteNo transport is free in London intentionally. Although there was a day this week when we got one by accident. The fares go up every year Yes every year! Well something went wrong with the update and the barrier gates didn't work. A whole day of free travel.
ReplyDeletePerth's bus shelters are so much more interesting than ours!
ReplyDeleteNo free transit here at all. Love that cat logo, Grace!
ReplyDeleteThat's excellent!!!
ReplyDeleteBig cats in your neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteA free busservice???!!!, here? you make me laugh. No transport is here for free, only your bike. You live in a very generous country.
ReplyDeleteWe have a free City Circle Tram and used to have a free tourist bus which took a larger circle around the city, but it was too popular with local people and so now charges a fare.
ReplyDeleteWe have a tourist circuit round Melbourne. But usually it is so crowded, and difficult to board. And yes. It is free.
ReplyDeleteFree? Here? You've GOT to be kidding! :-)
ReplyDeleteWe're very lucky here in London, when you get to a 'certain age' you get a travel card that allows free travel on buses and the subway....we don't have such an elegant cat though....I hope those fire aren't too close to you, have a good weekend..
ReplyDeleteOur rinky-dink light rail system used to be free downtown in the middle of the day, plus or minus lunch time. But the service was subsidized by private grants and it went away. Not that there are many places to go in downtown STL. There is negligible shopping. It's been bled away by our awful suburban sprawl.
ReplyDeleteI love that first "cubist" shot. Our bus "system" is a bit limited. It pretty much is to link the train station with downtown. It's only a 20 minute walk, but tourists with lots of luggage can take good advantage. It's not free, but costs an exorbitant 50 centimes.
ReplyDeleteLovely reflection Grace. It's a great service that Perth provides. My family and I were in the city last week and we used all of them to visit different parts of Perth.
ReplyDeleteGreat reflections and the bus stop if a fine one. I really like the CAT logo. No, we do not have free anything here in our town.
ReplyDeleteJoli coups d oeil ;o)
ReplyDeleteHow nice! yes we have a free trolley...but only to get you around the shopping streets downtown.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, Grace, I hope you don´t mind I get it printed!
ReplyDeleteYes, we used the buses a lot, too - no such service here.
What I found weird, though: On the Transperth buses people say "thanks" when getting off. On the CAT-ones not, why is that?
The cat looks like it's on a prowl!
