The Bell Tower, home to the historic bells from St. Martins-in-the-Field, you can listen to them here, sitting on the banks of the Swan River since 2001 is a pretty unique structure whichever way you look at it. I know I've shown it before but who can resist another view or two.. are you thinking armadillo, or is that just me :)
We got a pleasant surprise when we ventured down to see how the Elizabeth Quay project was progressing.. the area immediately around the Bell Tower has been a disastrous mess during the construction of EQ, but here it is now all spruced up and ready for visitors. What are you up to this weekend.. it's the markets, a four year old's birthday party and a protest rally for moi :) Whatever you get up to take care and stay safe...
The Bell tower is pretty in any angle! The area surrounding it is looking very nice, I noticed that during Open House when I visited the Bell tower.

The building is truly eye-catching. Great perspective in the first 2 photos!
ReplyDeleteSt. Martin-In-The-Fields, as in Trafalgar Square? It looks different from every angle, some like a sailboat.
ReplyDeleteI think there is some good Sheng Fui happening with that building.
ReplyDeleteArmadillo for sure. Impressive architecture. The bells from St.Martin-In-The Fields , really? How come? Must be an interesting story behind it.
ReplyDeleteHi Grace, yes, pictures of pumptrack were taken fisheye lens.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that I caught a little autumn sun. We are now cold and wet. I envy the coming summer at you.
I'm not sure what to call it. But I know some cell phone companies that would be pretty happy to install some equipment in it.
ReplyDeleteThe tower does have an armadillo effect. At the very least it seems to look reptilian. A fascinating structure.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I love the shape of it! I can definitely see the armadillo effect in it, the swirls are so pretty. Lovely shots here. Have a lovely weekend! - Tasha

ReplyDeleteYour city is becoming an icon for new buildings I see. I like the nicknames for buildings, people are always so creative with them, Armadillo is perfect for this one.
