In Northbridge last week I noticed Washing Lane for the first time. I was intrigued.. many laundromats all in a row? Washing Lane, 'resurrected and renewed' in the upgrade of the Northbridge area during the Perth City Link project was full of surprises one of which was the money tree below. It is said that if you stand under the Chinese Money Tree luck, prosperity and longevity will come your way. I did stand under the money tree and while I'm more than happy with health and well being if my lotto numbers come in, well who am I to argue with fate.. I'm a very good sharer :) Wishing you a happy and healthy Sunday, take care and stay safe.. p.s. did you notice the lucky red border :)
Wow! I've been looking for a money tree or money that grows on trees all my life and you've had it hidden away in Perth. I'm on the next flight out! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's certainly cute! I had never heard of the lane before either.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes!!! I'm with Lowell!! Checking for the next flight out, too!!! Fun pics for the day and I hope you're enjoying what's left of your weekend!!
ReplyDeleteCurious and imaginative!
ReplyDeleteWe have a Laundress Lane and a Laundress Green in Cambridge. It's one of the places where the laundry for the university was done. Incidentally at one time there were no baths in the colleges as it was not considered necessary - the university terms only lasting eight weeks!
ReplyDelete:-)
DeleteTying the lane to the Chinese, probably the location of Chinese laundries.
ReplyDeleteOoh I would like my own money tree ;)
ReplyDeleteSo good! I hope you get lucky with the lottery numbers! ;)
ReplyDeleteGrace, if your Lotto number came in you would have many friends who would be glad to share with you. Lovely finds on Washing Lane. Perhaps there was a Chinese laundry there? There are many more riches than money and you seem to have an abundance of them.
ReplyDeleteVery good post Grace, health is the most important thing....
ReplyDeleteI do hope you have the correct Lotto numbers Grace.
ReplyDeleteI'd try standing under that tree. It's certainly worth a few minutes of my time. Great post Grace! Oh, and I love the red borders!
ReplyDeleteThere is a big lottery here tonight and we pay no tax on winnings! Love the post of the Bell Tower - it looks great. My dad has been in the hospital so I haven't been around to check out any posts until tonight.
ReplyDeleteWell, English speakers know that money doesn't grow on trees. Pick your side of the cultural clash.
ReplyDeleteI wish you so much good that you richly deserve! <3

What a lovely tree!
ReplyDeleteIf money would come from trees, everybody would be rich, isn't it? I see you are very creative with your red border!
ReplyDeleteNice post. And I like the STYLE too.
ReplyDeleteThe red border made me smile! (Toronto has many Asian communities.) Washing Lane with a money tree? Do they launder money there. Just asking!!
ReplyDeleteA street lined with laundromats would have been funny!
ReplyDeleteCan´t wait to come back, Grace, and see all the new things!
ReplyDeleteAnd that sure is one of the places we have to go :-)
I have always been looking for one of these.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a healthy and prosperous life ahead!
ReplyDeleteThat's a new one to me!
