Geisha in Leederville..

Ever since I read the novel Shogun by James Clavell I've been a little fascinated by the tradition of the Giesha. On the way home yesterday we stopped in Leederville where I spotted this gorgeous beauty in a cafe along Oxford St. I'm a little late for Monday Mural :) but couldn't resist anyway. If I'd had time I would have popped in and asked about the artist, but it was a quick click in passing which was a bit of a shame, would have liked to give a mention. Happy Friday, take care and stay safe...

  4. I thought fan blades were mixed in with her hair in the first photo. The second makes it clear there are no blades.

  6. I like the art work a lot but it might be a bit overpowering if you were seated underneath it!

  15. Interesting how the mural continues into the ceiling. It seems that this geisha is watching over the coffee drinkers.

  16. Those chairs in front look very comfortable to sit and nip. The Geisha painting is very well done.

  18. Coffee and geishas? I don't understand the connection. Now Geishas and tea I get.

  19. Beautiful, Grace! Oh, and these armchairs :-)
They rather remind me of a cold winter day by a cozy fireplace, not really Perth!

  21. Hi Grace,

Thanks for your very kind comments on my blog. Just for clarification, we don't live in The Villages, but about 30 miles north, in Ocala. We checked it out when we moved up this way from south Florida, but it was too much like "The Truman Show." We do enjoy going down there and "bumming" around and taking pictures, but do not wish to live there. :)

  25. I think I'd find it scary to sit there drinking coffee beneath her head.
