Strolling around Sorrento Quay on a warm balmy night, the colours from the brightly lit eateries create brilliant layers of colour above, under and through the boardwalk... tricky to capture without a tripod but not impossible. Do you think it looks better as it came out the camera above or cropped to remove most of the black below? I'm leaning towards the cropped version, black seems to absorb colour in the absence of light.. Have a wonderful weekend, take care and stay safe...
Hmmm that's a tough one, I love both but lean towards the top one perhaps because of the overall dimensions, although I can see your point about the black. Either way stunning colours and light, the black just enhances that. Enjoy your weekend Grace, looks a good one!
ReplyDeleteI think I like the top one best but it was a hard decision, Grace! They are both great shots!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! What a couple of eye-catching shots.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think I like the top one best, too, but like RedPat it wasn't an easy decision because they are both terrific!! I think it really depends on who is looking at the pics and what each of them see, so some will like a full photo while others would prefer to have it trimmed down a bit and focus on the amazing lighting. Whatever, you got an awesome capture!! Hope you have a lovely weekend, Grace!! Take care and enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteI like the cropped version best.
ReplyDeleteI like both--but the second one gets my vote!
ReplyDeleteI think I prefer the first. Stunning, either way.
ReplyDeleteThe second one for me. Beautifully shot!
ReplyDeleteEither way, it's an incredible shot! You done good! I personally prefer the cropped one.
ReplyDeleteThe cropped photo looks brighter and sharper and it is hard to believe they are the same photo.
ReplyDeleteLove the reflections. Great colors. You have night photography down.
ReplyDeleteBoth are good, but I favor the first, original before cropping, it's deeper, or richer in color! What a lovely place to wander about.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture Grace, so much colour it's just bursting! Difficult but I think I'll grow with the cropped version, the panoramic ratio suits it better...
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo Grace. Have a great week end!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the 1st pic. The 2nd is more like in your face.
ReplyDeleteSaturate!

Cropped for me - but then they are both stunning! Have a safe & easy W/E
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Grace. I like the uncrossed version, both because the proportions are more pleasing and the black at the bottom explains the context of the light better.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the first. It gives a lot more context for the image.
ReplyDeleteI think that both are really appealing. I don't see anything wrong with the black in the first shot but, I do enjoy both versions. Great night time shots regardless.
ReplyDeletehet heeft zo wel iets mystieke.
ReplyDeleteI'm having a hard time deciding which I like best, I'll get back to you.
ReplyDeleteYou captured the light very well and great reflections Grace!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the first, Grace. Awww, very beautiful, esp on this grey day over here!
ReplyDeleteWauu.. how amazing reflections, so strong blue-clorfull.
ReplyDeletePS. I like most the first one.
DeleteYou and BC have got your colors going today.
ReplyDeleteThe one with more dark looks better to me...
ReplyDeleteI think I lean toward the first photo. Somehow the patch of black creates a wonderful guide to the lights. Gorgeous reflections.
ReplyDeletebeautiful reflections...I like the first one best!
