At this time of the year in Perth we don't ever often use umbrellas for rain it's more about keeping le soleil from one's visage, I did enjoy catching vert sur vert above, beautiful trim around the edges of the brolly that perfectly matches the vintage vehicle. Stripes and berets were la mode of the day,
cliché I know but lots of fun...

'En garde'. Just one of the fun interaction activites, while watching a game of pétanque later I realised it's been quite a while since I last got my boules out :) The young lad with the foxy derriere and cap below was entranced by the ladies in their colourful attire singing what they claimed to be a French classic but was in fact 'otel Californeee :)
Tres belle vintage cars, the old beauty to the bottom left attracting beaucoup attention...
A couple of reflections to fini our visit to this years Bonjour Perth French Festival.. an aerial view of the venue taken early before the crowds arrived en masse! Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe, à bientôt...
It all looks great fun and very chic Grace ;-)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun festival. Great eye with the vert sur vert (sur vert). Hope all's well!
ReplyDeleteOh, it does look like so much fun!! I love festivals like this one!!! And, thanks for sharing that fun!! I do love your pics for the day!! Hope your week is off to a great start,
ReplyDeleteGrace!!!
What an excellent group of photos from this fun event. I LOVE that first one with all those shades of green. And, those very young fencing students are quite cute.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteYou managed to feature three of my favorite Citroen cars, the 2CV, the Traction Avanti, and the DS. The Citroen DS was ranked 3rd among the 20th Century's most important cars by a panel of 133 Automotive journalists from 33 different countries. The Model T Ford was first, and the Austin Mini was second. The DS was manufactured between 1955 and 1975, a long time for a single model. It was among the first unit body car, and the first production car to have disk brakes. All modern cars are now built that way. Beside, it looks cool. Speaking of cool, the striped shirt, beret, and mini skirt isn't bad either. Looks like a fun time.
ReplyDeleteTKG sure knows his cars, Grace! This looks like it was a fun day and no too hot.
ReplyDeleteTFG!
ReplyDeleteI was just about to close when I noticed the lashes on the 2CV. Funny.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I want that 2CV, the green one! When I was a kid, when you saw a green 2CV (which happened often enough), you'd pinch your neighbour, shout "deux-chevaux verte" and make a wish!
ReplyDeleteThe Citroën in the first photo reminds me of teenage years! T'was my Dad's car, though not green!
Such fun pics, love the 2CVs eyelashes.
ReplyDeleteIt looks quite fun! That first car feels familiar to me. I think my grandfather had one
ReplyDeleteFine looking old cars. I love the Citroen. I've not seen one of those in the USA since I was but a young boy. Always thought they were sleek.
ReplyDeleteOh, please! Give me a break! Soleil. Sheesh! :-)
ReplyDeleteGood pictures lass, I want the cars....
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures Grace, what a wonderful event...save me the red Citreon (I think) in the third picture down please..

ReplyDeleteFunny pictures of a wonderful event, Grace
ReplyDeleteEven a car has longer eyelashes than I do!
ReplyDeleteLovely old cars, I love the one with the long eyelashes! Must have been a fun event Grace!
ReplyDeleteI hope you pinched someone and made a wish, Grace! (The Citroën 2CV in German is also called Ente and when you see a green one - only green ones do the magic - pinch someone and make a wish!).
ReplyDeleteLove the brolly, too! And the " 'otel Californeee" :-) Great last pic, too!
Oh my goodness, such lovely fun shots (I so want her umbrella) you captured so much joy here I have to go back and see them all again. Love the little boys bottom, hehehe cute little face, and the cool cars with eyelashes or not! Thanks for sharing such fun- and I caught a reflection of you too! Fun day.
ReplyDeletethe "deudeuch" are also in australia
ReplyDeleteYou were really busy going from group to group, recording the activities and festivities. Our pleasure to witness what you saw!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful street photography capturing the essence of action!
ReplyDeleteWell that looks like fun. I love those vintage cars. I hate to think what it would cost to ship them to Australia. So maybe I should get in on this bargain.

ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to find a brolly to match the vintage car! Did you talk the owner of the brolly into standing there? :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a fine collection. The woman in green with the green parasol accentuates the green car perfectly.
ReplyDeleteGive me Detroit any day!
ReplyDeleteAdore vintage cars. Love the green one with the headlight and swept up eyelashes. And the green umbrella is a beautiful design.
ReplyDeleteWhat a GREAT event!!
ReplyDeleteI love the French cars...... and the green "umbrella"
