Montmarte this way...!

'Bonjour Madam'
'Bonjour, ca va'?
Slight hesitation... 'Bien...'
'Bon, moi aussi'..
I don't know who was more nervous that the conversation might be expected to go on, the young girl at the entrance to the Bonjour Perth French Festival or myself, I think we had both reached our 'limitée vocabulaire français' :) Such fun! It really was, I had no idea there were so many French people in Perth, it was lovely walking around Langley Park listening to snatches of conversation in my favourite language, the casual shrugs that the French do so well! I learnt a few thing also, I hadn't heard the term 'figurative art' before but there he was below Monsieur Figurative Artist...

Of course we had to have the 'buy four and get one free' option.. can you ever eat enough 'chouchou cakes :)

Langley park is such a good venue for events like this with the city on one side and the Swan River on the other... note the French flag flying :)

I was very tempted to wear stripes and a beret and although je résisted, many didn't.. I did however drink French champagne :) I'll show a few more shots on Tuesday, too many for one post. Happy Sunday, take care and stay safe..  à bientôt...

  1. C'est bon, vraiment! Moi, j'aime les gateaux. There's a French language group who meet at a local coffee shop in my small town once a month, I'd love to join them but my High School french has suffered through the years. I can still read it, but opening my mouth to make French come out gets harder and harder.

  8. Love the view of bubbles in the last photo. Great macro. And the young stallholders in green look like an attractive pair. Wonderful event to attend.

  10. Looks like a lovely time with cakes and champaign. There is also a row of Citroen cars. Only the French would name a car brand a "Lemon."

  14. It must have been fun, Grace. Too bad it was warm. When I was in France in September I was captivated by the many ways French men and women wear scarves. Next Perthian winter, you need to practice scarf art!

  19. Formidable, Grace :-) Aww and all the old Peugeot-cars. I go with Sami, learn French! Ingo goes to a group now where they practice English.
He´s kinda the Aussie or the where-did-you-learn-English-you-talk-funny-guy :-)

  24. Great food and great people with awesome styling and interior. Also a great venue New York for cheap happy hour drinks. However, the downstairs beer selection is about as standard as it can be while upstairs can be a bit more creative.
