No gardening, not a paintbrush in sight.. tres bon! We drove down to Fremantle Harbour early yesterday morning with nothing particular in mind. Breakfast and people watching on South Terrace aka the 'cappuccino strip' .. looks like people on the other side were watching moi aussi :)
Stopped in at the Fremantle Markets to buy flowers and listen to Mani on the piani :) you can listen to him here also, he knows how to tickle that keyboard!
A stroll over to the harbour where C.Y. O'Connor stands looking out over what is described as 'a personal triumph'.. the harbour..
Not much going on there, usually way more tooing and froing! Home after lunch to have a wee 'nanna nap' parfait! Looking forward to more of the same today :) Hope your weekend is just as relaxing, take care and stay safe...
Oh, such fun, great captures for the day, Grace!! I do hope you're enjoying your weekend!! It does look as though it's off to a great start!! I would love to stroll around that area some day!! Your weekend seems to be off to a great start!! Enjoy and, as always, stay safe!!

Such nice summery shots, Grace. It is so nice to sit outside to eat. People are still doing it here even though it isn't as warm as you have it - if the sun is out and no wind it's lovely to sup outside.
ReplyDeletedat ziet er heel mooi uit.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful day in a wonderful and colorful place! Love that 2nd shot...the street reminds me a little bit of something you might see in an old western movie...
ReplyDeleteIt does look like a busy area!
ReplyDeleteHey! Piano players two posts in a row!
ReplyDeleteHang in there, dear. I'm sure your nephew appreciates it.

Nice colored piano and gorgeous last image! Arianna
ReplyDeleteSo many intriguing scenes. The colourful piano certainly adds drama to the streetscape.
ReplyDeleteYou keep tempting me to move to Australia. Very nice looking place.
ReplyDeleteYep, celebrating Columbus' "discovery" of the Americas this weekend. :-)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a faaabulous weekend, enjoy....
ReplyDeleteThat's my sort of day Grace ... sitting back with a good coffee and people watching. I clicked over and listened to "Mani on his Piani" great music for street venues.
ReplyDeleteChillaxing? My spellcheck is having a problem with this!
ReplyDeleteLaid back weekend! Way to go! Beautiful street photography!
ReplyDeleteSee and be seen, that's the idea. Just be sure you're worth a look.
ReplyDeleteGreat day.
ReplyDeleteWhat's that blue stuff above...?
Chill, we do, too, Grace, only 7C. But sunny :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the piano!
Oh, I do love a relaxing weekend! That piano sure is different! And I love the new word "chillaxing"!
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice way to chill out Grace, sitting on a terrace and watching people, love it.
ReplyDeletePeople watching is fun! We didn't do much this weekend either, but stayed home and had a BBQ tonight with our son and daughter in law.
ReplyDeleteI spent a day in Freo when I was staying with my cousin in Perth, great place. We had a fab lunch in a museum, I seem to remember.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting reportage on a beautiful city. I'd like to relax there too...
ReplyDeleteSounds (and looks) like a perfect day. My favorite kind of relaxing, roaming around camera in hand.
ReplyDeleteHi Grace. Just responding to your questions re the "totem" poles. They're fairly recent and are located at the entrance to a restaurant. I think they serve simply to draw attention to the eatery. But they are colorful.
ReplyDeleteInteresting blend of the old and the new!
ReplyDeleteYou are living the good life, Grace. Thanks for documenting it for us.
ReplyDeleteI love Freo, it's my second home since my daughter emigrated. I felt a little pang of home sickness when I saw South Terrace and the markets xx
ReplyDeleteLove the balcony and the arcade in the 2nd shot.
