Never to be seen again.. nothing makes you die
Like an arrow through the heart... Bee Gee's
We've all had our heart broken at least once right! I've seen this mural so many times on Newcastle St. but as it's mostly business parking on this busy road I haven't stopped. I really like it so last week I made the effort to find a park and take a few pics. Painted on a wall adjoining an overgrown vacant plot and with the weather a little cloudy it was the perfect touch of pathos don't you think :) Did I mention that after a weekend of painting every muscle in my body hurts, it's true! Hope your weekend was/is a little more relaxing than mine, happy new week, take care and stay safe...
This is an intriguing painting in an intriguing place! Tis a mystery!
ReplyDeleteHopefully your painting experience isn't as tough for you as it was for the subject of this mural. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed an intriguing painting, sad but beautiful!!! A wonderful capture for the day -- as always!! Hope you have a great new week!! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteThe brilliant colours in this mural make the broken heart all worth while.
ReplyDeleteThrough the hand and the heart. Quite a bright mural.
ReplyDeleteI so love street art and this mural is no exception.Perfect! Hope that your muscles feel better today?
ReplyDeleteThis one really stands out well!
ReplyDeleteI like it a lot, Grace! Rest up now for a few days!
ReplyDeleteOuch that's a painful looking mural, you're right about the sky...
ReplyDeleteThat is quite beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSurely you are not in as much pain as the lady in the mural?
ReplyDeleteSoak in a tub of hot water with a cup of Epsom Salt added. I promise it will soothe your muscles...Janey
It has such powerful graphics, the gold halo and flame hair running out of the frame. But, although the figure appears female, it reminds me of pictures of St. Sebastian.
ReplyDeleteSomehow that setting works well for the sad mural.
ReplyDeleteTake an aspirin and call me in the morning.
It does stand out.
ReplyDeleteBetter rest those sore muscles, Grace!
As the mural on the right says "winning isn't everything". Hope the aches & pains of your painting was worth it. Take care etc
ReplyDeleteI'm certain that being pierced by an arrow is not as bloodless and painless as that!
ReplyDeleteFrankly disturbing, making me reflect that art should be occasionally disturbing. Good lesson. Glad you accomplished the painting! wow
ReplyDeleteI like this artwork too Grace. Just one emotion simply displayed - loss.
ReplyDeleteThe arrow is a bit to real through hand and hart to make it fun .It indeed hurts also.
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't look so happy, maybe a bit reflecting your muscle pain?
ReplyDeleteI love this mural. The subject matter is quite unusual.
ReplyDeleteColorful, but oh-so-sad. Why the hand as well, I wonder.
ReplyDeleteAt least the painting-job is done, Grace - I hope :-)
It's a wonderful mural. Very well done!
ReplyDeleteShe looks sad. Hope your house painting has brightened your home!
ReplyDeleteGreat mural, glad you stopped. Bet the painting looks good. Have a good weekend. Diane
ReplyDeleteSaint Sebastian or a way too strong Cupido victim? :-))) Love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic mural! Love the scale of it and the expression on her face.
ReplyDeleteTake an advil and rest your muscles. You deserve it!
I love this painting...
ReplyDeleteCongratulations !
Pierre
Stunning drama of emotion in this mural.
ReplyDeleteAmor's arrow ?
ReplyDeleteWow and make that a BIG WOW!
ReplyDeleteThat image really is impressive!
ReplyDeleteI like the mural's image yet I think it is in a curious location. Glad you photographed it for us to see.
