A bit of this and a bit of that!

I'm sitting here covered in paint, how I get more paint on moi than the walls is a mystery.. or a talent :) We're on the home-run with the house painting, only one room to go thank the lord! Didn't get out yesterday so here are a few randoms from our trip to the city Saturday last. London Court above is a mega draw care for tourists, I remember when we first arrived in Perth many years ago sitting for hours in a cafe here people watching..

I spotted two weddings in different parts of the city on Saturday. Couldn't resist the shot above. Why is it that whenever we see a group crossing in this formation it always triggers the image of the iconic Beatles Abbey Road album cover, or is that just me?

Definitely jacaranda time but also as below the glorious avenues of London Plane trees just newly dressed in spring foliage, j'adore!

... and last but not least as we walked through the city centre the Carillion Bells below were chiming in the midday! The bells sadly lay dormant for over thirty years before being brought back to life in 2013, I think it's unanimously agreed that they add a charming touch to a visit to the city.. Happy Friday, take care and stay safe...

  1. I love your pictures of the bride crossing the street.... yes, definitely brings back images of Abbey Road. So interesting to see your new spring growth while the leaves on our trees have been pounded with wind and rain for the past 2 days, and are mostly swirling down the streets. Time to get the leaf rakes out!
How lovely.... a carillon, wasn't there or maybe not working when I was in Perth but that was back in 2003.

  2. Each photo is a story in itself. When teaching creative writing to high school students, I often used photos like these for a prompt and wonderful stories emerged! Writers could have a great time with the top two especially.

  3. Ah, there is a difference indeed in your Spring growth and our colorful but dying trees etc. Both are beautiful seasons, just DIFFERENT!!! Happily for me, I love them both!! Thank you, as always, Grace, for sharing the beauty of your world!! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

  10. Just you. I think of how difficult it would be for the bride to dodge traffic in that getup. :-)

  11. Beautiful shots. I also had an Abbey Road moment looking at that wedding party, and that album was long before my time!

  14. You have some nice images in your archives. (We could probably stop taking pix for a year, right?) I thought you painted everything not long ago. What's up?

  15. A fine selection of photos! I love the wedding party scene. (It's that time of year, isn't it? I'm attending my second wedding in three weeks soon.) And, j'adore the jacaranda! My favorite tree in bloom. Just breathtaking! Your scene is particularly pretty with the other flowers in the foreground.
