Last week I showed this work by Ukranian artist AEC on the Central TAFE building in Northbridge. Today, just around the corner on the same building a piece by 'partner in art' Waone, who together make up team Interesni Kazki. Titled 'Rainbow Serpent' it too is influenced in surrealistic style by Aboriginal mythology, the serpent a common motif in Aboriginal art, with relating details like the stripey numbat only found in WA and the Australian red tailed black cockatoo. Now this.. let's be kind and say ordinary :) building has a bright and colourful exterior that reflects the bright young minds that study within! Happy Monday, take care and stay safe..
I'm going to have nightmares now! That head is ever so scary...
ReplyDeleteWhat great fun for young and old. And remember, someone's got its eye on you!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm just gobsmacked! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, yes!! I'm with Revrunner -- I'm gobsmacked, too!!
ReplyDeleteHow nice post, love your idea in these photos.
ReplyDeleteFun. But why is my neck aching all of a sudden???
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this one, Grace! ;-))
ReplyDeleteIt's original! AND it makes me smile. ;)
ReplyDeleteNo wonder Putin invaded...
ReplyDeleteThat's a bit different. I like the depiction of the animals.
ReplyDeleteVery large and maybe a bit scary!
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I find stuff like this a good 'waste of paint'. hehehehehehe Not a big mural guy anyway, as you probably know.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing mural this is and it looks so good on the side of that building. I don't think I'd want to run into that creature in person but I do admire the art.
ReplyDeleteThat is one huge mural. Can't say that I like it. I wonder what aboriginal people think of it?
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff Grace, it certainly livens up that building..
ReplyDeleteWow, Grace!

The only serpent I've ever seen that I don't find creepy.
ReplyDeleteI think AEC's father must have been a friend of Timothy Leary.
ReplyDeleteWow! That mural is amazing. Not only is it spacy and dream like, it is huge. Fine set of photos documenting it.
ReplyDeleteOK, I am a cranky old fart, but this does nothing for me.
ReplyDeleteThat is very cool!
ReplyDeleteInteresting art work, very nice images Grace!
ReplyDeleteBright and beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteCertainly looks good here!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAwesome work, I love it! What a difference murals make, Grace!
ReplyDeleteScary head, but I love the rainbow colours!
ReplyDeleteThis is humorous and very nice, Grace !
ReplyDeleteIt is impressive and well done, but it reminds me a bit too much of the work of Dali, which I dislike deeply.
ReplyDeleteTalk about sticking you neck out. Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteI want it.
ReplyDeleteQuite otherworldly!
ReplyDeleteWow, these are incredible captures, the art just reaches out at us! The silly colorful head reminds me of the new style light bulbs too! Too funny. Enjoy your week, and happy shooting, always a treat to view your world.
ReplyDeleteYou can't help but like this piece. So well rendered; fantastical and humorous all at once. Had never heard of a numbat before. More education for me. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic! Love the legs shot.
