Sex & Subiaco.....!

Whether you were a fan of Sex & the City or not, it would be hard to pass up the chance to see the actual Vivienne Westwood designed wedding dress that  Carrie (SJP) wore when she finally nabbed her Mr. Big :) To celebrate 'diamond' week Linneys in Subiaco have the dress, shoes and ring on display for the next week, as well as the opportunity to win your very own 5.41ct black diamond ring. Of course Aimee and I entered, not because I have a fondness for diamonds, think of the lenses I could buy with the money. However many women do and there was much more oooing and aaahing over the ring than the dress, I had to squeeze in and take this shot below 'très vite'! So were you a fan? I have to confess I did enjoy the quick and often hilarious dialogue, not so much the movies though.. Another week begins, thanks so much for all the good wishes re my aching back :) it's definitely on the mend, happy Monday, take care and stay safe.....

  2. Just catching up with your gloriously colourful photos. I love your observation that a diamond ring would convert nicely into lenses! I'm with you there.

  4. Enjoyed the show...didn't like the movies either! But I'd love to see the exhibit and enter that black diamond contest...can't say I'm all that intrigued about the actual black diamond...but I'm definitely on the same page as you about a means to a lens!!!! (or two!!!)

  6. I've never seen the show or any of the movies Grace but the dress is lovely. But Subiaco in the title got my attention. Isn't that where the Oval is where England regularly beat Australia?! :)

  7. The dress is lovely but I'll take diamonds which I'll then sell and buy new cameras/lenses.

Watched Sex and the City on occasion. Did not like the movies. Couldn't even sit through the 2nd one. Moronic comes to mind.

    Have a nice week!

  14. I did watch the show whenever I needed something fun, but the movies were pretty bad! Regardless, obviously lots of design savvy went into that elaborate dress. I bet those diamonds will get you amazing lens! (Good luck!:) Glad to hear back on the mend!

  16. Ha, I married during January in the North of Germany with a few feet of snow and many degrees minus ;) Impossible to wear alike, as people were freezing, yet probably worth...

Please have a good new week ahead.

And yes, one can certainly get addicted to lenses !

  18. I heard about it on the radio, I can imagine that the shop would be full of young girls admiring the dress. Hope you are on the mend with your back.

  19. The hair makes the mannequin look a bit like Marie Antoinette.

I am so glad that Carolyn has no interest in diamonds, shopping, designer clothing and all that stuff. It makes her even more attractive.

  23. Now there's a gown to compete with the costumes in "Gone With The Wind". Must admit that I was busy when the Sex in the City movies were released.

  24. Saw several episodes, found it amusing, but cannot call myself a fan. That Vivian Westwood designed the gown caught my eye. But I'm surprised it looks so flouncy. My tastes run more to Vera Wang. Like I would ever pay that kind of money for clothes, for any occasion, ever.

  28. Watched the movie with girlfriends...in a tiny mountain theater where we spend the summer. Knew everyone in the audience...98% women that all dressed up for the occasion..Owner even gave away appropriate door prizes. Had a ball!
