Je suis dévasté! My beautiful little furry ami is moving..just to clarify, her owner is moving and alas taking Syd with her, hmmmff! :) You may remember me saying that she comes to visit for breakfast each morning and likes to tarry around my garden eying up the birds (just looking) through the day while her owner is at work, she even sometimes rebels and stays over for the night, love when that happens..They're moving soon, a couple of suburbs away.. I wonder, is it just dogs that find their way back, or is that just wishful thinking! Hope your week is moving along nicely, happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe..p.s. Aimee thinks it's time I rescued a pussy cat all of my own, she could be right :)
She's a blogging cat, I love it! I'll send Boris over via (big) parcel post - we can share him!
ReplyDeleteAlways time for a loving, four-legged friend!! What a handsome fellow he is, too!! Hope your week is off to a great start!! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteSo sad for you, Grace. It may be time!
ReplyDeleteShe is adorable. So is there a cat in your future?
ReplyDeleteShe is cute. And yes, cat's do the lassie thing.
ReplyDeleteAfter being brought home to Frankston from the RSPCA shelter, Toby walked 9 kilometres to Baxter where he originally lived. As he had been chauffered everywhere all his life, I'd like to know HOW he worked out how to get to Baxter on foot.
Very sad, Grace. But cats have been known to find their way back so just maybe.... ;))
ReplyDeleteI had in my home a stray cat and always came home to eat and get a few hugs and cuddles.
ReplyDeleteHugs and kisses.
Ooooyes! A rescue to be your companion. Love mine. Look for the round head, stocky body with long front legs, and shortish, pointy tail of Burmese genes for a smart, affectionate friend. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteyes it is time to rescue your own kitty to be your ami! transient amis are so transient!
ReplyDeleteShe looks like she was a good friend to you. I'm sure you will miss having her around.
ReplyDeleteWell there you go, I second Aimée!
ReplyDeleteOur cat wandered in to our lives and stayed. She looked as if she was a traveller and returned to this area. Yes! A cat does favour a territory and will do anything to stay there - especially if not really connected with the owner! This one looks adorable! But maybe it is time to rescue a little one in need!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Aimee..... you need a furry ami of your own :-)
ReplyDeleteJe suis triste pour toi et je comprend ton inquiétude mais les chats retrouvent leur chemin.
ReplyDeleteUn bonjour de Belgrade :)
At least your birds will be safe:)
ReplyDeleteSorry Grace. She looks just like my Felix. You've got to love a friendly black cat :-) Who knows, maybe they ARE like dogs, and Syd might just pop in unexpectedly one of these days. I hope so for your sake. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteThe photo of the cat looking on as you post is precious. It does sound like a cat is in your future. Maybe you should wait to see if this one sneaks back.
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome kitty.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely cat. Perhaps she's right!
ReplyDeleteI love cats too....
ReplyDeleteBest regards from Paris,
Pierre
There is every chance the cat will find its way back.
ReplyDeleteAw, what a shame. You will have to get your own now.
ReplyDeleteShe is a doll, what a cute friend! I think to adopted a cat is a wonderful idea! :D
ReplyDeletepurrs and love from LUNA and hugs from mommy Léia ;)
Lovely post Grace, sorry to see Syd go but yes, you should investigate rescuing a cat you can truly call your own maybe? ;-) We used to adopt neighbours' cats years ago (one we called Pumpkin and another Scally-one enjoyed our pumpkin soup and the other was partial to leftover curry) and it is sad when their owners want them back!
ReplyDeletei, of course, agree wholeheartedly with aimee.
ReplyDeleteAll you need to do for a cat to come back is open a can of tuna!!!! If you've ever fed it, it'll be back ... cats are SO loyal like that!!!
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing pix of YOUR pet once it's been rescued ...
Awww, such a beautiful cat!
ReplyDeleteHere some people moved to Berlin with their cat. That´s some 250 km away, the cat came back twice to Braunschweig and is now allowed to stay here - so... chances aren´t that bad for you and the tuna, huh? :-)
Or, as Red said...
Get a cat :-)
Aimee is right, Grace--you need a cat of your own to love!
ReplyDeletei think you need to go to the shelter and see who picks you out as their new forever home mama .. because you know that you dont pick or put a cat ... they pick you!
ReplyDeleteYes, perhaps it is time for that new writing assistant and editor.
ReplyDeleteHow cute! Not like mine, I mean the one in my post...
ReplyDeleteShe sure is a cutie! Maybe it's time to get a full-timer...
ReplyDeleteWe have cats and a couple of them love to sprawl out on my keyboard.
Hi Grace. It's me way down here at No. 33 comment. I can add any more to all the great thoughts above accept to say, I love the photo :).
ReplyDeleteAw, what a sweetie - I agree with Aimee, I think it's time! Wonder if new neighbors will bring a new furry friend? (Read a tale in the NY Times about a cat trekking 200 miles back home, so you never know :-) http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/01/19/one-cats-incredible-journey/)
ReplyDeleteShe sure is cute and looks like she knows all about computers. Maybe you might get a cutie of your own to spoil. Cats are great company and very loyal,
ReplyDeleteJust like the song ..."the cat came back ...'.
ReplyDeleteI like Peters comment
ReplyDeletewe are celebrating labor day here, a holiday!
and the sun is shining!
Apparently when someone moves with a cat, they should smear some butter on the paw cushions, so they do not wander back to the old place. I think this makes them lose the scent of where they came from...(Old wives tale??)
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should rescue a cat Grace, and give it some much needed love.
Cute cat Grace. Think its time for you to find a Sooty of your own.
ReplyDeleteYes the only solution is one to get of your own...
ReplyDeleteLooks to be a cool cat!
ReplyDeleteLovely cat. But then most of them are (unless you are a bird, or a mouse..., or unless the cat is a Tiger... Ach, I think too much). Lovely cat.
ReplyDeleteLovely cat! Arianna
ReplyDeleteJust in the news: The (also black) cat Morpheus came back home after eight years. Wow, huh???
ReplyDeleteI think Aimee is right, Grace! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, join us in the club! Someone out there needs you! We did it a few times, the last one being our lovely cat Rio. It also makes you feel warm inside.
ReplyDeleteI think the black beauty will visit you!:)
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, perhaps you should go for a cat that is just yours. Sounds like a good idea from several people here.
Awww, what a cute kitty. Yes, you must get one for yourself. Always a pleasure to take in a higher form of life like a cat.
