Most unfortunate.....!

Je suis dévasté! My beautiful little furry ami is moving..just to clarify, her owner is moving and alas taking Syd with her, hmmmff! :) You may remember me saying that she comes to visit for breakfast each morning and likes to tarry around my garden eying up the birds (just looking) through the day while her owner is at work, she even sometimes rebels and stays over for the night, love when that happens..They're moving soon, a couple of suburbs away.. I wonder, is it just dogs that find their way back, or is that just wishful thinking! Hope your week is moving along nicely, happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe..p.s. Aimee thinks it's time I rescued a pussy cat all of my own, she could be right :)

  4. She is adorable. So is there a cat in your future?

  5. She is cute. And yes, cat's do the lassie thing.
After being brought home to Frankston from the RSPCA shelter, Toby walked 9 kilometres to Baxter where he originally lived. As he had been chauffered everywhere all his life, I'd like to know HOW he worked out how to get to Baxter on foot.

  6. Very sad, Grace. But cats have been known to find their way back so just maybe.... ;))

  7. I had in my home a stray cat and always came home to eat and get a few hugs and cuddles.
    Hugs and kisses.

  8. Ooooyes! A rescue to be your companion. Love mine. Look for the round head, stocky body with long front legs, and shortish, pointy tail of Burmese genes for a smart, affectionate friend. Good luck!

  12. Our cat wandered in to our lives and stayed. She looked as if she was a traveller and returned to this area. Yes! A cat does favour a territory and will do anything to stay there - especially if not really connected with the owner! This one looks adorable! But maybe it is time to rescue a little one in need!

  16. Sorry Grace. She looks just like my Felix. You've got to love a friendly black cat :-) Who knows, maybe they ARE like dogs, and Syd might just pop in unexpectedly one of these days. I hope so for your sake. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

  17. The photo of the cat looking on as you post is precious. It does sound like a cat is in your future. Maybe you should wait to see if this one sneaks back.

  23. Lovely post Grace, sorry to see Syd go but yes, you should investigate rescuing a cat you can truly call your own maybe? ;-) We used to adopt neighbours' cats years ago (one we called Pumpkin and another Scally-one enjoyed our pumpkin soup and the other was partial to leftover curry) and it is sad when their owners want them back!

  25. All you need to do for a cat to come back is open a can of tuna!!!! If you've ever fed it, it'll be back ... cats are SO loyal like that!!!

Look forward to seeing pix of YOUR pet once it's been rescued ...

  26. Awww, such a beautiful cat!
Here some people moved to Berlin with their cat. That´s some 250 km away, the cat came back twice to Braunschweig and is now allowed to stay here - so... chances aren´t that bad for you and the tuna, huh? :-)
    Or, as Red said...
    Get a cat :-)

  33. Aw, what a sweetie - I agree with Aimee, I think it's time! Wonder if new neighbors will bring a new furry friend? (Read a tale in the NY Times about a cat trekking 200 miles back home, so you never know :-) http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/01/19/one-cats-incredible-journey/)

  37. Apparently when someone moves with a cat, they should smear some butter on the paw cushions, so they do not wander back to the old place. I think this makes them lose the scent of where they came from...(Old wives tale??)
Maybe you should rescue a cat Grace, and give it some much needed love.

  38. Cute cat Grace. Think its time for you to find a Sooty of your own.

  39. Yes the only solution is one to get of your own...

  40. Lovely cat. But then most of them are (unless you are a bird, or a mouse..., or unless the cat is a Tiger... Ach, I think too much). Lovely cat.
