There's rustic..and there's rustic.....!
This one is for the bench aficionados out there, you know who you are..Malyss and VP to name just two.. It made me smile when I saw the 'comfort factor' added to this tree trunk which works as seating for the barbeque area in Synergy Parkland just one of the many family picnic areas in Kings Park.....
I couldn't help wondering if this impressively big old tree trunk just a stone's throw away was going to remain au naturel or was it a bench awaiting further enhancement? I quite like it as it is, it looks comfortable in it's bark :) Relieved to say my fabulous physio with the magical fingers has almost got me back up to running speed again, excellent! Happy Wednesday, take care.....

I love wood, I love natural things so now I want to sit there!
ReplyDeleteGosh, I was first!!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your back is on the mend, all the better to enjoy these beautiful benches! Love the simple beauty. A super spot to have family picnics! (BTW, that didgeridoo video was amazing)
ReplyDeleteGlad your er, back up again. Not sure those benches are better than a log.
ReplyDeleteYou take care if you plan to sit on that log :).
ReplyDeleteGood for your balance to sit on a log!
ReplyDeleteThis bench makes me think of a xylophone! ;o)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your thought, dear Gracie!
Glad to read you're feeling better!
I love the logs for benches! I'm so glad you're feeling better and Sam says he's glad that both you and him are feeling better! Definitely makes for a more fun day!! Take care!
ReplyDeleteI had exactly the same thought as Malyss!
ReplyDeletePerhaps benches are not supposed to be comfortable as they are mostly for short stays not extended vacations. Oui?
An interesting contraption...
ReplyDeleteI might choose either one as long as I don't have to stay for very long.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are almost back to normal Grace. The first one looks a bit like giant piano keys. Rustic is all well and good but I'd need a down filled cushion too!
ReplyDeletePeople have been sitting on trees stumps for ever. Glad to see that the tradition continues. Glad your back is straightening out for you..
ReplyDeleteRe your comments n the wedding shoot, I don't know haw a photog could do it alone. It's a tough job. We were exhausted, but it was fun.
I like that someone is making benches out of logs...so much more character than metal and concrete! happy to hear you're feeling better :)
ReplyDeleteAm always happy to see a bench available to sit ;)
ReplyDeletePlease have a good Wednesday.
Now that's a bench with character!
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to find a pair of mallets and play the top two benches like xylophones.
ReplyDeletethat first bench just looks bizarre. I think I prefer the second log (and its more natural, soft location).
ReplyDeleteThere are bench aficionados? Are they related to couch potatoes?
ReplyDeleteI agree with William.
ReplyDeleteSmart!:)
ReplyDeleteI love benches and these are fabulous! I would like to site there and enjoy the landscape, maybe a good book as well!
ReplyDeleteLéia
Simple but ingenious. I like it Grace.
ReplyDeleteMmmm, don't know if I like the bench this way, the combination is a bit bizar.
ReplyDeleteI love Bob's comment. I fall in the couch category! These benches are quite unusual. I'm still thinking about how I feel about them! :)
ReplyDeleteV
The combination is a bit weird looking, though if I was in need of a bench... There is a similar looking bench in Boston in front of a bank, except the bench sits on top of granite and not an old tree trunk.
ReplyDeleteanother bench freak here .. and i am SO happy you are feeling better .. xo
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're feeling better. I like the clever addition to the first tree trunk. I find myself sitting on the second kind in my local woods.
ReplyDeleteI don't like it, I like the natural log. If you want comfort take a chair or go elsewhere. It's a park...I think people mess too much with nature and not always (hardly ever) is it better.
ReplyDeleteBad backs are the pits, take care.
Barb.
Benches are always fun.
ReplyDeleteOriginal benches! I like them.
