I had lunch with a friend in Cottesloe yesterday, with the intention of taking some shots of The Indiana Tearooms to show you, which I did and I will, but along the way I got a wee bit distracted by not one, but four 'wonder women' posing for pictures on the beach.. The beach front was being prepared for the annual Rottnest Channel Swim (a short video of the 2010 swim). Thousands of swimmers set off early in the morning to swim over to Rottnest Island which is 20klms off the WA coast near Perth, to be honest with all the shark sightings we've had this summer, you couldn't pay me to do it! The race can be swum by singles, pairs, fours etc. and I'm thinking that perhaps these four ladies were a team having some shots taken before the race which is today. I'm going to have to check the news tonight to see if I can spot this colourful group among the masses that took off from the beach this morning. Personally, I'm going out to dinner and take in a movie with my family, how about you, are you doing something exciting this weekend.....?

Certainly colourful costumes sportified with the tanned skin! Looks like publicity shots! My weekend is basically to weather the 38 degree temps predicted for today...already heading that way! At least we can hope for a slight sea breeze in my peninsula world!
ReplyDeleteDon't think you could pay me to swim in those waters either! Not with all the shark sightings I have read about! But they're lookin' good! Hope you have a great evening out!! The weather is miserable here this weekend, so I'll be sticking close to home! Enjoy yours!!

ReplyDeleteYou have a great group photo here today, Grace, just begging to tell us a story. I like your thought that these women will be in the race. I have some other superheroes scheduled for this week. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteWONDERFUL! Capture Grace. Fun more than anything else!
ReplyDeleteYou always manage to find the neatest shots! I love this...and I am with you about swimming with the sharks...NO WAY! I am visiting my sister and family this weekend, and joining some friends I haven't seen in 47 years on Sunday! Hoping to have a great weekend - hope you do also!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your dinner and movie night. I have a work colleague whose husband is taking part in the Rottnest swim. Brave people, quite a hard long way to go, and the sharks....scary!

ReplyDeleteGood for them! That water looks devine. Just purchased tickets to Kauai where I"ll be headed in May (can't wait!).
ReplyDeleteWell, since you asked... now I'm dreaming of swimming!
ReplyDeleteI wonder where they got the suits? They're quite cute, reminds me of the Underoos I had as a kid.
