Hanging balls in Green & Co(ck).....!!
Yesterday I went with Bill to the camera market held in the Leederville Town Hall, it's an every three months event where you can find everything from antique camera's right up to modern SLR's. It's a great opportunity if you're looking for a different sized lens, filters, tripods etc. I was seriously tempted by a limited edition white Pentax complete with 18-55mm and 28-200 lens' in matching white, it was just so 'pretty', but I really couldn't justify spending $600 on something that I really didn't need! I did come away with a great book full of tips on how to take better portrait shots for $10 and was very happy with that (easily pleased, that's moi). On the way home we stopped in Leederville to have a cup of coffee in Green & Co, someone regularly adds a 'ck' onto the end of the Co which is slightly amusing, described as 'bohemian' but actually pretty 'shabby' looking from the outside, it's pretty funky inside with walls covered in old music concert posters and light balls hanging from the ceiling, the main thing is that the coffee is good and the cake even better!! Hope you have a great start to the new week.....

Haven't stopped at Leederville for ages, even though my travels take me past there most days, thanks for the reminder :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like my kind of a fun day! And it looks like a fun/interesting place to go -- especially if the coffee is good and the cake is better!! Hope your week is off to a good start, Grace! Enjoy!

Oh! I could spend some serious dollars at that camera market ..... Great coffee and cake at a funky Bohemian cafe is the perfect way to end a day
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great place for coffee!
ReplyDeletec'est la fete des lanternes, magnifique, j'imagine que le soir quand tout est allumé cela doit etre sublime
ReplyDeleteI hope we will see the result of that purchase here soon!
ReplyDeleteWonderful lamps. Reminds me of the 70s.
ReplyDeleteI like the looks of that coffee shop! And I don't drink coffee.
ReplyDeleteI cuold use a cuppa right now! Sounds like my kind of market too! Probably wise not to take your wallet and credit cards though...
ReplyDeleteThis place sounds and looks like a great place. Love the photos.
ReplyDeleteHadn´t heard of that camera market, sounds interesting. All those paper lanterns in the coffee shop look nice, and the walls too.
ReplyDeleteFrom the outside, I wouldn't think of going inside, but once inside . . . miraculous! I don't think photo markets are good for the wallet.
ReplyDeleteLove the interior. The top picture makes it look like you are floating in a glass of champagne. Not that it would go well with coffee.
ReplyDeleteI love places like this! The camera market sounds like a fun way to spend a day. I"d probably have to leave the check book and credit cards at home.
ReplyDeletecool!

love it!
ReplyDeleteNice about the $10 find. Those are the best.
ReplyDeleteVery cool balls! As for co--, boys will be boys.
How fun! I love that first shot.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the song by Jerry Lee Lewis "Great Balls Of Fire" :-).
ReplyDeleteThe place looks great for a cup of coffee. The posters add an interesting mood!
ReplyDeleteDo you get a kick out of resisting something expensive and getting something cheap instead? I sometimes do! This looks like a place I'd enjoy, but without the ck! :-)
ReplyDeleteCa donne envie de s'envoler.
ReplyDeleteBon début de semaine, Gracie!
You'rea very wiseperson, not useful to spend too much money to be happy.I like the place, this ceiling gives a feeling of lightness.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect day. Something I would have enjoyed as weel
ReplyDeleteLOL, great post Grace.
ReplyDeleteFunny shots: there is a whole universe of white planets over there!
ReplyDeleteFunny place, the 1st shot is spectacular!
ReplyDeleteMuy buenas fotos..me gusta tu blog..un beso desde Murcia..seguimos..
ReplyDeleteit looks as if it could float away.
ReplyDeleteI love how it's decorated using the lighting & this looks like a fun place to hang out too.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of a phrase: let there be light!
ReplyDeleteYes that looks like a cool and funky place to chill and read your purchase- lovely post Grace.
ReplyDeleteI understand the draw of a pretty camera ... I was looking to replace my point&shoot but now I am thinking I'll just keep using the iPhone and not try for long distance shot or extreme close ups .. and what's better than a day out with a friend, a good cup of joe and some cake .. yum
ReplyDeleteYou described it well: shabby on the outside and funky on the inside. With all those balls dangling overhead, it kinda has a claustrophobic feel to it. Perhaps a little something extra in the 'ol coffee would help cure that. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the recurring "ck" graffiti. It's given me an idea to look out for such graffiti here. The cafe looks good, I like a bit of shabby chic.
ReplyDeleteI like the looks of this cafe too! I usually don't like those paper lamps, but they look good here.
ReplyDeleteYes! It does look as if it could float away!
ReplyDeleteI like the look of this place, Grace. Sort of café I'd frequent :-)
ReplyDeleteNice shots.
PS: You were very strong in the camera market!
ReplyDeleteYou're very fortunate to have such a camera market...our camera stores are gone, gone, gone! And I miss having knowledgeable people to buy from and get advice from.
ReplyDeleteThe balloons are nice. I'd guess they are there to give the place a light and airy feel and also serve as noise suppressors.
Somehow a white camera would stand out too much...I have enough trouble being sneaky with a black one!
ReplyDeleteWhat a very cool ceiling! Love the first shot.
ReplyDeleteamazing the effect of the roff, just magic
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun and cozy spot to enjoy coffee and treats!
ReplyDeleteFun to catch up on your blog this evening, Grace!
I arrive with a pin
