Fire update.....
The bush fires south east of Northcliffe are 'contained but not yet under control'..according to the fire updates, as long as the containment lines hold the fires shouldn't run into rural land. The fires weren't started deliberately this time, they were caused by a series of lightning strikes! The air over Perth (and in my head) is even smokier this morning and it's expected to continue right up until the weekend. Despite the haze I'm going out on the scout today looking for a bit of fun haha! Hope you have a good day in your part of the world.....

superbe composition, tres belle photo
ReplyDeleteA great picture ! Hope everyone's save. Please have a kind Thursday.
ReplyDeleteThe pink glow is like an other world...perhaps like a former life on Mars? So pleased the fires were not caused by arson.
ReplyDeleteBush fires seems to be a recurring problem every year in Australia, it must be really difficult during these months ! Take care !
ReplyDeleteI hope when you went out you didn't breathe! :-) Those fires as so bad. But they do provide some awesome photography!
ReplyDeleteHi again! Re your comment on The Villages: Hang on, 'cause you'll see some very dramatic golf carts! People in The Villages are a little nuts...
ReplyDeleteDon't breath too deeply!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot! Love the colours and the composition of this.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the fire and the mess that they cause, but this is a gorgeous capture! And I agree with Nick, wonderful colors and terrific composition! Stay safe, Grace!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
Good news.
ReplyDeleteI like your composition here. Keep on looking for the master shot!
I really like the way you framed that shot - it is lovely!
ReplyDeleteWe had a fire last summer in a swampy area well south of us. It burned for months because it was burning the bog, and the smoke was sometimes seen and smelled well over 200 miles away! It was started by a series of lightning strikes also, so I know what you are experiencing. Hope they are able to get it put out quickly - besides the obvious damage from the fires, the resulting smoke is such a health hazard for people with breathing issues! Thinking about you, Grace. Have a good day!
Let's not have the birds start to fall out of the skies. This sort of thing can happen in the American West but never here. Too wet. We have tornadoes and the odd earthquake instead.
ReplyDeleteIt's so sad that something as destructive as a bushfire can make such a lovely photo!! I guess we take our beauty where we can find it.
ReplyDeleteThere have been many times here when the valley we live in fills with smoke from forest fires up north so I know how this looks and smells. Hope you had a good scouting trip and didn't have to breathe too much smoke.
ReplyDeletewishing you well, cough cough
ReplyDeleteAloha from Waikiki

ReplyDeleteExcellent photograph and very timely.
ReplyDeleteyour picture today is really fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThe fact that the fires did not start deliberately is a "good" news. I HATE when someone light fires.
Fires create such an eerie light in the sky! Like a sunset and dawn smoking at midday! Beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo with a wonderful composition, I like the bird in flight.
ReplyDeleteDramatic photos but I hope it is over soon.
ReplyDeleteI know, isnt it bazarre. We are out past Canning Vale and it is mostly clear thank goodness. Im lovin this milder weather tho. Cheerio, Fiona
ReplyDeleteOnce again, sorry about the fires, but this is a beautifully composed photo with that great light.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous light horrific source .. contained is good .. finding fun is even better .. I am finding work at my desk in the office at least til 4:45 which right now seems a lifetime away
ReplyDeleteSuch scary stuff. I remember the smell of smoke and the twilight at daytime here from a couple years back. I woke in the middle of the night on one of those days to a bright orange moon out the bedroom window.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo but scary situation.
ReplyDeleteI hope it´s over soon!
Gorgeous shot. Sorry to hear about the fires but so glad they are now contained.
ReplyDeleteStop taking good pictures! I am feeling inadequate now!
ReplyDeleteEvery day is drearier than the previous one so I'm enjoying these paradise like photos precisely because I can't smell the fires. I hope they abate really fast.
ReplyDeleteGood news and another lovely shot.
