The Big Picture.....

Sometimes when things seem to be moving along way too fast, it's good to take a time out and just chill with a friend and contemplate the big picture, I can't be certain what these two were thinking about (well I can if what they say is true haha!) but whatever, they were enjoying a companionable time together... Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes for Aimee yesterday, she had a brilliant day surrounded by aunties, uncles, cousins and babies...Aimee as a pirate captain is a hard act to follow, I'm not sure if these shots are going to cut it, but *French shrug* what can you do.....! I see on the news that the weather in the northern hemisphere is horrendously cold, a very frightening situation. My heart breaks for the homeless and can only hope that somehow they are being cared for at times like this, realistically knowing that there will be lost souls out there with no one. One thing is for sure, no matter how hot it is here I will never complain about the weather again!! I hope that your weekend is going well.....

  3. My girls are in Perth for an extended weekend, Grace. One of Kirsten's aunts is turning 60 ... big knees up there, too.

  5. It's very cold in Europe and especially in Russia, but balmy for the season on this side of the Atlantic. I admire these two gentlemen. I do not do nothing well. There will be a chance to improve my idleness skills in a setting like this next month. We'll see how it goes.

  6. I could sit on a beach and just look at the sea for hours and fishing gives you a reason to be doing it! Nice one Grace. It is pretty warm here for Feb. +4C and no snow at all - balmy!

  8. I'm not much a fisherman but, I do recall one day when a friend and I took our books and spread a blanket on the beach and read for one or two hours. I loved the sound of the waves crashing on the beach. It was wonderful relaxation.

  12. These young fellows don't look like they are interested in working very hard. Catching fish might not be that important.

  13. Ah, yes. Sometimes you just have to stop and smell the roses, hang on, the sea air? Is it fish I smell?
    Lovely shots, Grace!

  18. Nice picture, but when I see those men fishing I am always wandering why on earth they do like it. I can't imagine myself sitting there and looking at one point for hours. Men are sometimes weird...

  23. I think these guys are the same all around the world. I usually see their local counterparts fishing in our harbor...

  24. It looks as though catching a fish would be an unwelcome and unnecessary intrusion into their peaceful day. Nice picture.

  27. Did you think you'd hear them better the farther away you got? ;-))

I can remember doing exactly that - fishing on a beach. It was great fun at the time, but I wouldn't do it anymore. I have photos to take! :-)

Re your comment about the weather: No, it's not cold here. We're in central Florida so it gets colder than south Florida (which is subtropical) but today it's sunny and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. It will be in the 80s all week. At night it goes down into the 50s so it's just about perfect!

Enjoy the warmth before climate change changes everything and the cold moves your way!

  29. I like the beach but I don't like fishing. What would I do if I caught one? I suppose I would have to take it off the hook. Aaaaggghh.
