Later in the afternoon at the Brazilian Beach Carnival, waiting in what we thought the perfect spot for the parade, we heard the joyous rhythmic beat of the Banda Ziriguidum and Sambozzy drums long before we saw them. Oh, and about that perfect spot, it was.. until the human factor kicked in, I'm 5ft 2in, no match for a 6 footer :) Still I did manage a few shots and...
... as the dancers and musicians shimmied on by it was our cue to head home even knowing that the entertainment was going on well into the evening, five hours of foot tapping was long enough for my sad hamstring :) Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe..
Vibrant and alive.
ReplyDeleteMust have been a fun five hours.
ReplyDeletecolorful and looks like fun.
ReplyDeleteA fun time!
ReplyDeleteWonderfully joyous photos.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so odd to see people so close together and to see no masks. Glad that you had a good time, Grace!
ReplyDeleteGee I would love to see and hear that....so very colorful. You take such beautiful pictures.
ReplyDelete...I bet that the sound was exciting.
ReplyDeleteDearest Grace,
ReplyDeleteSorry for your hamstring but all the colors and noises were worth it I bet!
Hugs,
Mariette
A couple of photos were well worth enlarging. Got to look after your hammy.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics. Greetings.
ReplyDeleteI fail to understand, Grace, why we are not like that!
ReplyDeleteSo much joy of life, fun. I´ve never been to Brazil, but Cuba is a bit like that.
They don´t have money, they have a fire of joy inside and show and sing with their music.
We have Beethoven. Bach... Oh, just leave me alone with that (it´s art, too, but sad art).
You made me smile with this post 😍 Thank you.
There’s nothing like a Brazilian beat to get the feet stomping.

ReplyDeleteGreat ending for a perfect day.
ReplyDeleteSo much fun and colour Grace. We had a few members (just female) of the Ziriguidum band at one of the functions of the WA Portuguese Women Association in November last week and they were fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI can almost hear the music just looking at your photos!
ReplyDeleteP.s. as a fellow 5 foot 2 incher, I know what you mean.
With the compelling beat of the drums, I think you should take up Samba dancing. What fun.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! Love it all! I am hearing the beat of those drums in my noggin.
ReplyDeleteGreat photographs.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Yeah!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat day, you got some good shots.
