Peas in a pod.. do not disturb!

Spotted the sleep pods when we were leaving Perth Airport on Saturday night. The eight sleeping pods in T1 are a partnership between Smarte Carte and Finnish company GoSleep. You can see a short video here of the pods in action. At $12 an hour they could be a reasonable option for those few hours between long flights, someone even wakes you up so you don't miss that connection. Do you have them at your airport, have you used one.. would you? I could probably sit in one and read/doze while recharging phone etc. but I would probably have claustrophobic issues with the cover :) Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe..

  1. Ah, that's a good idea, it's the first time I've seen one.

  2. Never have seen anything like this before. Might be a good idea, but $96 for 8 hours sleep is pricy.

  3. I have never seen them before but I would be far too claustrophobic to sleep in there!! Have a good week, Diane

  4. I would feel the same as Rhodesia! I'm sure they would be popular though for frequent flyers!

  6. I've never had to sleep at an airport. There could always be a first time, but at $12/hour I'll use a chair.

  7. I haven't seen those but we did see at Munich Airport small cabins with a single bed and I think a shower. The price for hiring one wasn't too bad.

  10. I am sorry, Grace. Ask Aimeee. There is a Simpso... you know! ;-)
Well there is water involved there, but basically it´s the same. To rest, to float, forget your worries. "Find yourself".

Homer and Lisa sure go on a journey. And Fland... OK, I stop. No link.

But, as you said... I would not close the lid. It´s like a ... "coffin", a bit. Oh, but would I love to not hear anyone (but Ingo) on a flight!

  11. I don't know ... is too close too claustrophobic ... I like a hard couch I can breath free! And I kept the 12 ... 24 ... 63 etc $ in my pocket!

  12. I also think I would have trouble closing the pod for a bit of shut-eye Grace.

  14. Hello Grace,
This is so special. I have never seen before.
Maybe you can relax for a while, but it doesn't seem pleasant to me. It looks a bit like something I don't want to get into for a long time....hihi...!!
But it's very nice to see. Nice post!!

    Greetings, Marco

  16. No, we don't have anything like that at our airport. What a great idea. My friends travel a lot more than I do and they've been stuck in airports many times. They would put these to good use.

  17. I've never seen one, but it's been quite awhile since I've been flying.

  18. I have not seen them but I have not been to an airport in years. I would not use them as during my frequent air travel when working I had no trouble dropping off in the plane or in the airport lounge.

  19. This is news to me, but then again I don't travel much.
