CDP Theme 'Tired' ..or the relevance of being relevant!

In Kings Park on Wednesday evening to see the super blue blood moon coming up behind the city. I'm so 'tired' :) of trying to get a good shot of the moon I thought I'd leave it others more capable than I and take pictures of them doing it.. check out the size of that lens below!

It was a warm balmy evening and many had the same idea. Looking out over the city watching the sky turn from golden to purple and finally deep blue as the moon peeped over the top of the building to the right below.. One of my favourite shots, fourth down, with the State War Memorial..

Conversation on the way home.. Aimee sitting in the back seat looking at her phone "there are some fantastic shots of the moon up on Instagram and Facebook". Me "What already, it's still happening, I thought maybe tomorrow". Aimee "It won't be relevant tomorrow mum!" Me "oh it'll be so yesterday I suppose!" Seriously :) My abstract take on the super blue blood moon below, why have one when you can have three! Happy Friday, take care and stay safe..

  1. Your shot with the Memorial is my favourite of these, Grace!

The eclipse here was apparently around five in the morning. I did wake up at one point in the night with the moon shining in my window, but that would have been earlier.

  3. You obviously had a great time getting up early and shooting the moon. Love your photo of the first sunlight hitting the city. That is a special shot.

  4. Oh I love how you made it your own in the final one!

  5. Yes, some great photos there, Grace. I like the Memorial one too, it's gorgeous with the light. I also like the last one, the tie-dye moon, very cool.

  7. Your pics are great, Grace! I like the one with the silhouettes of all of the people in the foreground.
I just came in and took off my short boots! It is +5˚C and all the snow we got yesterday is melting. Back to the deep freeze tonight.

  8. That was quite a lens! You had the best idea, pictures of the people and the area.

We had a storm that night. No moon here!

  9. We saw for about half an hour before it disappeared behind our building. I like that there a lot of people there who are not taking photos and just enjoying the communal moment.

  11. My dear Ms. Grace: you take a back seat to no one in the art of photography. And a great camera and lens is merely technology. One of my virtual friends, Ken Rockwell, who is also a top-notch photographer, had said time and again, "It's not the camera." An expensive camera can make things easier but it's not necessary, and he shows on his website photos he's taken with one of those paper point and shoots you can buy for $10. Your photos in this post are glorious. Moon shots aren't hard, but there are about three different things you need do. Check out Mr. Rockwell at http://www.kenrockwell.com. You'll be glad you did!

And btw, that was faux snow on my post yesterday! Complements of Photoshop. We don't have snow here. If we did I've move south! :)

  12. You're very lucky you had clear skies there, every time we try to get out and take photos of super moons it's always overcast.

  13. A lot of moon watchers at Kings Park Grace. I also tried taking photos with 2 different cameras and my mobile, but only the one with the better lens showed up something.

  14. LOL, Grace, that SO reminds me of "Staircase to the Moon" in Broome in 1999.
We went to the beach to take a pic and the beach was full with people having the same idea just... so many were using flash-lights!
I bought a post-card later and tried to enjoy the actual event instead :-)
    Beautiful pics you took!
And, really? It´s not relevant the next day? By golly, I´m old then! :-)

  15. Great idea to combine the blood moon with the tired theme Grace. It looks like it was a beautiful evening. I had forgotten how our daily blogs get us out and about and looking at what’s before us from a different perspective.

  16. I love your take on the moon (or moons). I think I like it better than the real shots of if. Looks like you had a fun time moon and people watching.

  17. I like your abstract take too Grace. It almost looks like a painting. Sadly, I slept right through it, so I'm happy to see all of the pictures online!

  18. What a nice story and excellent photos of the moon. I saw him too but it was not blue, just white as always!

I was so tired to take shots of 'The Super Blue Blood Moon'...
Because of long time keeping facing up...
