Spring Seduction.. before and after the rain.

Just as those in the northern hemisphere are seeing the last of the summer roses, here in Perth this week my first spring rose bud stretched its petals and bloomed seductively. It's not for nothing that this rose is named 'seduction', la couleur et le parfum is alluringly delicate..

I can't be the only one who thinks that the full-blown rose is as beautiful in it's own way as the fresh new bud, personally it's with reluctance that I finally clip those lovely mature blooms.. this is in no way a metaphor for growing older :) Happy Sunday, take care and stay safe..

  9. "Seduction" is the right word! You could have used these photos for this month's theme. They are gloriously sensuous!

  10. Seduction indeed. It is the prettiest rose ever! Great photo of the rose and raindrops! It improves with age, PDP.

  11. Now that all our roses - even the full blown ones - are pretty much history it's s-o-o-o nice to see your spring coming into bloom. These are gorgeous shots. And Seduction certainly lives up to its name.

  12. Very fine blooms. It is for the future of plant that they need deadheading.

  13. Here we are past our flower season, except one here and there. These are so very lovely, I can almost smell them.

  14. Beautiful photos, Grace, and you certainly left me with a big grin here, too :-)
And I do admit... I had to look up "reluctance" before doing the grinning!

  16. I agree about the older blooms, and I go one step further and capture them when they are spent with the last few petals still hanging on. Perhaps this is a metaphor for growing old.
