The wrapping is off!

The lighthouse at Hillarys Boat Harbour has been wrapped up for the past few months for repairs and hopefully a lick of paint. I have been keeping my eye on it to hopefully catch the unveiling and was pleased to see on Tuesday evening that the wrapping is off and the although still encased in scaffolding there are signs that it's coming down! I was interested to see the public notice here re the Osprey nest that was atop the lighthouse.. it will be returned in time for spring nesting.. good to know!

The gentleman below fishing and enjoying the sunset was sitting on the wrong side of the railing.. I couldn't help worrying that he might fall in.. I spend too much time these days worrying about people's safety, some may even say neurotically so :) Happy Thursday, take care and most of all stay safe!

  6. Cool shot with the scaffolding, Grace! The older I get the more neurotic I seem to be getting. I seem to worry about stuff that wouldn't have bothered me when I was 20!

  8. To be honest I wonder why people deliberately choose to take a risk, like this gentleman standing there. Oh well ;)

  12. Wrapped it looks like something from the space program...a weapon to shoot down the Korean missiles....

  13. It's nice to see it getting care. The U.S. let so many of its historic lighthouses fall into disrepair. Our local one has been adopted by a local group and is really beautiful. (That man could topple if he lucks out with a big fish. His kind of behavior is turning me into a fussy old lady.)

  14. With the light not working, why haven't ships crashed into the rocks?

  20. The first pic looks surreal, science-fictiony... You know, coming back to earth 10000 years after all human life ended there... With apes as the new intelligent species...
I might be watching too many strange movies, lol!
