Australia Day 2015..

It's possible I might not to make it to Skyworks 2017 tonight, so to celebrate Australia Day today a few shots from Skyworks 2015, you may remember.. taken using knees not a tripod :) The three amigos drinking their ale in the cool of the river might be the way to go again tonight, we're looking at 39C today.. it's going to be 'hot in the city tonight'.. go on I dare you to listen :)

... and if you were wondering why I was absent on the blog yesterday it was because mid-way through post preparation at around 8.30pm there was an almighty thud when a young thug crashed his car into an above ground power-line pole, one of the downsides of living in an older suburb, on the corner of my street and everything went black! Big thanks to the Western Power crews who worked through the night and well into the next day to clear up live-wires and replace pole, the tragedy was trying to wake up without a hot cup of coffee :) Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe... P.s. if I make it to the fireworks tonight I'll take my tripod :) P.p.s. As much as I was furious with the 'young thug', where he came from no-one knows, thankfully he was unharmed, I feel he should be presented with a bill from Western Power for their services :)

  1. That is a lot of work for them to do, but good that they're out there doing it. Razem frazem on the young thug!

  2. Thank goodness for those men and women who will brave the heat and cold and darkness of night to get our power back on when we need it. Those fireworks from 2015 are pretty darn spectacular.

  4. That´s exactly what Ingo wants to see come 2019, Grace, and I don´t mean the road work due to a stupid driver like that!
Ahhh... 39C. Bliss. Condo still cold, minus grades outside, Spring can come, if you ask me!

  6. There are always a few people who like to make life more difficult for the rest of us. I've got to say though that that first fireworks shot is magnificent! Zounds!

  11. Fantastic photos of the fireworks, they are awesome, Grace. Unfortunately there are young thugs everywhere. Over here they're know as "boy racers", they love to speed down a road and race. Why, who knows.

  12. I feel all hot and sweaty. Not sure why. It isn't hot. If your power is turned off, you can prepare for that, but to lose it like that must have been a nightmare. He should also be charged with careless driving, at the very least.

  14. I think those three guys in the first photo have the right idea! Sorry about your power going out. We had some very bad storms with tornadoes this past weekend and thousands of people lost power here. Thankfully I was not one of them!

  18. Oi. Well, these days we have to be grateful when the thugs crash into a pole and not into pedestrians.
Thanks for the good pictures. Happy Australia Day!

  24. Those fireworks photos are stunning, Grace. And, yes, utility workers are at their best when they are working hard to get customers' power back on.
