An Apple a day..

It always astounds me that whenever I walk past the Apple store on Hay St. in the city it is teeming with people.. at the desks, standing around chatting, spilling out onto the pavement in front of the shop, mesmerized by their 'devices'. I don't get it! I do get the gorgeous old building that Apple lives in (see Apple link above) and the flaming red tree reflected above and here below.. as for the rest, I'd rather eat my apple than play with it!

The only time I've ever seen the store empty.. apart from a solitary night watchman below.. was when leaving the city at 8.30 one evening.. it looked odd :) Another scorcher today and we're off into the city to check out a bit of the Chinese New Year celebrations, always fun and photogenic! Happy weekend, take care and stay safe...

  1. That is some tree! I wish we had an apple store...I used pretty much all Mac products but the closest store is Orlando, about 80 miles distant! :(

  9. It seems the Apple stores just have the one design. That photo could have been taken in numerous towns and cities throughout the world except for that beautiful tree outside.

  10. I love that tree and the building that Apple is in is nice too. As for Apple, my apple goes in to my porridge. They are so overrated IMO and not worth the inflated price.

  11. Is it not odd that so much can now be done online yet people still want personal human service. Not that odd really. Humans like reassurance.

  13. They look remarkably similar. The second picture could be the one in a shopping mall near us, or the one we saw a way back on the main square in Aix-en-Provence. As invariable as McDonalds.

  14. Oh dear, I guess I'm one of those Apple devotees. I love all my Apple products, they make things so easy to use. I also enjoy just going into to the store every now and then to have a look around. It's such an inviting place.

  15. For that kind of apples you need very deep pockets for a daily diet. Great tree.

  16. Great pics Grace. I think a lot of the youngsters go there for free wi-fi!!
Very brave to leave home in this heat, but I'm sure you'll get some great Chinese New year pics. I'll just stay indoors under the air-con.

  19. It is a lovely building. I don't get it either, I love technology and what it can do for us, but it doesn't dominate my life.

  20. A stunning tree. I'm with you as far as apple is concerned. I use technology for my own purposes, but refuse to let it dominate my life. I must be the only person who refuses to get an Iphone. I won't let technology imprison my life. Computers are enough for me.

  22. It is a lovely old building which many of the patrons probably miss with their heads in their devices!
