Beautiful views and banoffee pie.....!

Thanks so much for the 'be gone headache' :) wishes yesterday.. not enough water and too much action in this horribly hot weather we're having.. a recipe for disaster! As I haven't been out and about for a few days here are a few shots from our visit to The Old Brewery last week.  Above and below the view from the terrace, looking out over the Swan River to the city and the Narrows Bridge which links Perth's northern and southern suburbs, that view must be magic in the evening....

The brewery has been beautifully restored, this passage leading down to Zafferano restaurant, the walls lined with amazing old photographs of the brewery c18/1900. Last two shots of the Grill & Bar where we sat out on the terrace and had coffee.. using supreme willpower I managed to resist the Banoffee pie.. and now it's all I can think about :) check out the dessert menu! Loved the use of old distilling vats for tables, last shot. Here's a question for you,  if you have wooden floors what do you clean them with to get them super shiny? I hope that you've had a much better start to the week than I, happy Tuesday.. take care and stay safe.....

  1. That dessert menu looks to die for!

The restaurant looks very appealing indeed, though I have no idea what Banoffee pie would be..

  4. What a great brewery restoration. Was it the beer that cured you ?

  6. There is something universal about the appeal of old breweries and wineries.

    Beautiful pics!
Hehe, Use Bohner Wachs to get the floor that shiny!
Looks really inviting, guess "next time" we give it a go, too!

  9. More beautiful views, and a reminder about the wonder of Perth.
The desserts seem a tad expensive. I hope the portions are large!

  10. I had never heard of Banoffee Pie before so I had to look it up. You do have great will power, I'm not sure I could have resisted such a fabulous combination of ingredients.

  11. Both the scenery and the brewery are beautiful!
One more reason to visit your great city.
I have no idea what Banoffee pie is, but I'm going to check it out.

  15. Lots of things to say! First of all, glad that you're feeling better!
Then, that menu is a problem for me. I'd like Banoffee pie with banana, with caramel & double cream, Steamed date & banana pudding with toffee sauce, Cinnamon parfait with baby poached pears & pistachio biscotti and Honeycomb cheesecake. Now what does that make me? An indecisive person?!
I have to say, however, that even in the shade, I'm not sure I could swallow anything except for cool water.
If I knew how to get my floor to shine like that, I'd tell you!
    Finally, love the inside!

  21. So glad you're getting better over time! Stay hydrated (maybe not with beer:). Hat's off to you for resisting that pie - even if I managed such a feat, my stomach would've been rumbling over the lavender creme brule and honeycomb cheesecake, yum! I'd love to know what makes wood floors shiny, no luck ourselves:)

  22. I haven't had an opportunity to resist banoffee pie since we left Ireland. Great looking pub.

  23. Great photos. Well, if you want really shiny and slippery do what I did when I was in College: use Pledge. I use Murphy's for floors now.

  28. I've heard of banoffee pie, but had to look it up to refresh my memory. Don't think I've ever tasted it. But this place looks to be #1, so that's where I'd like my first taste!

  29. Hi Grace. Glad your feeling better. It wasn't too much imbibing at the brewery that caused it was it? Chuckle. Just kidding. Migraines can be such a terrible infliction.

  32. Oh my I hopet cools off for you. Pretty views from the terrace.
We use a product by Bona to polish our wood floors at the beginning of the season in Colorado.

  33. Like others, I,too, had to look up the pie and would love to have a slice of it right now. I'm sorry that the heat is so unbearable; which is worse, I wonder. . .your heat wave or our current −12F right now?
