Wednesday.. no Friday, perhaps Thursday.....?

I know you've seen them here many times before but it's pretty hard to resist taking a few new shots of the colourful Rainbow Lorikeets especially when they're grouped together duck diving into the fruit of the palm tree next door! They may be small and 'jewel like' but just listen to the racket they make (take my word for it it's much louder in reality :)

Just hanging about.....

Not the clearest shot, they were really high up, but it does show the spectacular range of colour on the underside of the birds.....

..and then they were gone! I'm off to have a sleepover at Aimee's new house tonight.. hmmm! what can we get up to :) as she has no internet connection yet I'm posting my Friday shot on Thursday before we leave.. but hey what's new, for me it's been that kind of week, not sure if I'm Arthur or Martha! Even though it's Thursday I'm going to wish you a happy Friday and leave you more confused than ever because it's probably only Wednesday for some of you :) Whatever day you read this have a good one, take care and stay safe... linking to Skywatch Friday here ... tomorrow!

  1. Nice color in those birds, might be good for you to paint one day.
Back to work here on Thursday but it feels like a Monday so it is a real mix up. Our high temp for Friday is suppose to be 29 F so it is cooling again. You gals have fun, maybe it is best that you don't have internet.

  3. Ah, your today's post came through today and not tomorrow, as is the norm. It is discombobulating. I have lost track of days, but I know I only have to work tomorrow and then three days off. What a pity my other half is in such a foul mood.

Could one ever get bored when watching Lorikeets? They are so all care and fun, and no responsibility.

  7. Great shots of the lorikeets Grace. For a small bird they sure are noisy. We have a large flock of white corellas in town making such a racket. White feathers everywhere, looks like snow.

  8. Thanks for the sound clip on this one. I wondered if they sounded similar to the peach-faced love birds that gather in my yard and they do. They are very loud little critters. These are so colorful, I love seeing your photos of them.

  20. Just the sight of these delightful creatures warms the cockles of my heart. Now, if I could figure out what "cockles of the heart" means, I'd be in good shape. :)
