I know you've seen them here many times before but it's pretty hard to resist taking a few new shots of the colourful Rainbow Lorikeets especially when they're grouped together duck diving into the fruit of the palm tree next door! They may be small and 'jewel like' but just listen to the racket they make (take my word for it it's much louder in reality :)
Just hanging about.....
Not the clearest shot, they were really high up, but it does show the spectacular range of colour on the underside of the birds.....
..and then they were gone! I'm off to have a sleepover at Aimee's new house tonight.. hmmm! what can we get up to :) as she has no internet connection yet I'm posting my Friday shot on Thursday before we leave.. but hey what's new, for me it's been that kind of week, not sure if I'm Arthur or Martha! Even though it's Thursday I'm going to wish you a happy Friday and leave you more confused than ever because it's probably only Wednesday for some of you :) Whatever day you read this have a good one, take care and stay safe... linking to Skywatch Friday here ... tomorrow!
Nice color in those birds, might be good for you to paint one day.
ReplyDeleteBack to work here on Thursday but it feels like a Monday so it is a real mix up. Our high temp for Friday is suppose to be 29 F so it is cooling again. You gals have fun, maybe it is best that you don't have internet.
They have such beautiful colors...... nice shots Grace.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Joop
Ah, your today's post came through today and not tomorrow, as is the norm. It is discombobulating. I have lost track of days, but I know I only have to work tomorrow and then three days off. What a pity my other half is in such a foul mood.
ReplyDeleteCould one ever get bored when watching Lorikeets? They are so all care and fun, and no responsibility.
Your lorikeets are so beautiful, I have the same feeling about the days, it feels like every day is a saturday or a sunday, very confusing.
ReplyDeleteWell it's Thursday here so not far out. What wonderfull looking birds, so colorful
ReplyDeleteThese beauties deserve to be photographed again and again. I am awed by their spectacular colours and beauty!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the lorikeets Grace. For a small bird they sure are noisy. We have a large flock of white corellas in town making such a racket. White feathers everywhere, looks like snow.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sound clip on this one. I wondered if they sounded similar to the peach-faced love birds that gather in my yard and they do. They are very loud little critters. These are so colorful, I love seeing your photos of them.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous birds! I would be tempted to photograph them whenever I saw them too. Hope you enjoyed your sleepover!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy new year from my country, the Philippines, to yours. :)
ReplyDeleteDear Grace,
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and the whole Australian Continent !
beautiful birds and colors... a nice start for the new year :-)
ciao
I never tire of seeing the lorikeets!
ReplyDeletewe used to go see them at the zoo and get a little cup of sugar water (i guess that's what it was) and they'd all go crazy! have fun at your sleep over!
ReplyDeleteThey are such beautiful birds!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the sleepover Grace. The lorikeets are so beautiful, such gorgeous colours!

So real... they look fake... till that last one.
ReplyDeleteThey are so beautiful and cute.
ReplyDeleteA very cute way to begin new year! Arianna
ReplyDeleteThey're living celebration decorations: Colorful, gay, funny, making noise... :o)
ReplyDeleteI wish you a Happy New Year , dear Gracie! All the best for you and your family!
Just the sight of these delightful creatures warms the cockles of my heart. Now, if I could figure out what "cockles of the heart" means, I'd be in good shape. :)
ReplyDeleteThey are fabulous, Grace. I've had to stop and think about what day it is all week long!
ReplyDeleteHey, those are great action shots of those beautiful birdies. Good job !
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to have these beautiful birds, I miss the colourful birds of Africa. Have a good weekend. Diane
ReplyDeleteLovely birds, good attempts to get them.

That is one colorful fellow.
ReplyDeleteWe are ALL confused by the holidayyyyy madness! Oh how nice you will be with A. And as for the lorakeets, I could look at your shots every day - they thrill me with color - and I don't live in the drab-est of places..... Enjoy your rejuvenating weekend
