Snug as a bug in a rug.....!

There's nothing like a snooze under the shade of a tree on a hot afternoon, and believe me yesterday was hot..34C! Can you see the snout and arm of the joey popping out of mum's pouch in the top shot. The birth and after birth cycle of the kangaroo never ceases to amaze and fascinate me, for many more kangaroo facts head over to Red Nomad's incredibly informative post to which I'm linking these shots. The Christmas tree went up yesterday, maybe NOW I'll get into the Christmas spirit...bah humbug haha! Happy mid week, take care.....p.s. if you want to see something REALLY heart stopping have a quick look to see what Bill and his dive buddy came face to face with on their last dive, there can't be anything much more scary than a 5mtr white pointer coming straight at you ....!

  17. I sometimes ponder what the first Europeans must have thought when the saw a kangaroo, let alone a joey in a pouch.

  21. Aw totally gorgeous the little cute minx! I raised an eastern grey many years ago - his Mama was road kill and he was still in the pouch. It was a great experience and he was released into a national park at 12 months. Cute, cute! Have a great week Grace! PS: terrific shot!
