High on the hill
Looking out at the city
I couldn't help thinking
T'was such a pity
That instead of sweltering
In the heat
It was not snow I had
Under my feet.....

Taken yesterday around noon from the lookout at the top of Reabold Hill in 41C. Yes, I am a little nuts, the heat does that to you after a while, although to be fair there are only a handful of days when the weather is so extreme. I'm curious to know, as far as hot weather goes, what would you consider 'extreme'? Hope your weekend is going well, take care.....p.s. has anyone seen any of The Hopman Cup being held right now in the new Perth Arena?
That is very hot Grace!
ReplyDeleteIt's not the heat so much as the humidity that bothers me... is that an issue in Perth?
ReplyDeleteDry heat is tolerable, damp humidity is NOT!
ReplyDeleteHere in Boden in Sweden, near the Arctic Circle, we do have snow enough for your feet. The temperature has been below -30 C some days ago, but now it is a comfortable -20 C. I have an old Swedish school mate living in Perth. I must Skype him and ask if he has been out lately ...
ReplyDeleteA 'comfortable, -20C..oh wow that's unbelievable!! I wonder what your friend thinks of the heat at the moment, tell him to hang in there, it doesn't last too long thank goodness..
DeleteYou are certainly showing the heat with this one Grace.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes! It does look HOT!! Wish I could send you some of our cool temps!! Hasn't been out of the 40s (Fahrenheit) here in weeks!! But at least it isn't too cold! Hope you have a fantastic, COOL, and very Happy New Year, Grace!!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
Oh my, in that heat I could do no more than lie on the floor with my feet in the fridge! I'm only really happy between 20 & 28 C... but we often get high humidity here and that is harder to bear than dry heat, I think.
ReplyDeleteLots of laying around going on here.
ReplyDeleteI do prefer we don't get given chocolates at Christmas - our house is full of it - aside from the fact I need to drop the kilos - this heat and chocolates do not mix!
Thinking of a white Christmas one day ...
Sweltering heat is not one of Melbourne's features right now! We have had a couple of semi hot days, but many have been grey and cool! Christmas Day, however, was wrapped in beautiful sunshine - but not hot. Love your heat laden panorama!
ReplyDeleteThat's very hot. Good interpretation with the pink.
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Filip
40 degrees! We're promised 4 degrees tomorrow morning.
ReplyDeleteSummers in Florida are always extreme...but we're used to it. Sorta. Love this shot - the color and the treatment. Stunning!
ReplyDeleteRe your comment: I have had tons of spam. But I'm not posting much to The Villages so maybe I'll take off Word Verification and see how it goes.
Have a Happy New Year celebration but be careful with bubbly. You have such a bubbly personality to begin with!
My ideal temparture is between 20/25C. Don't mind the heat so much, but loathe humidity, it saps me energy.
ReplyDeleteWe have snow, lots of it. And I prefer that to the 40C heat.
ReplyDeleteGreat image. I like heat. Raining nearly the whole day over here. Glad, lemons are inside. Please have a good Sunday ahead.
ReplyDeleteI know it is hot there but it is freezing here. I am jealous!
ReplyDeleteGrace--your city's turned pink!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, it's a wonderful photograph....
41 degrees Celsius? That would be nearly 106 degrees Fahrenheit. In Connecticut, that would be record-setting and unbearable, largely because high heat in Connecticut is usually humid. If it were dry heat, as it sometimes is in Arizona, it would be almost OK. Your photo surely shows the effects of the heat.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea it got that hot there. Nice photo.
ReplyDeleteOver 105 F ! O MY! Stay cool my dear

SNOW? You want SNOW?
ReplyDeleteCall a doctor, the girls delirious!!!!
Couple of cold drinks, some shade, a swimming pool... And you should be fine. Oh yeah: ice cream as well. Send me your address, and I'll send you a Spanish fan, an abanico.
ReplyDeleteAs long as you don't send it my way Grace .... 42* is way too hot for us Adelaideans. Yes I'm watching the tennis ... Luv it - especially when Jo Tsonga is on centre court.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, what can you do in such a heat? Stay cool.
ReplyDeletethe plows are growling past my window and everywhere we have blankets of snow. wish we could take you out for a walk in it to cool you down.
ReplyDeleteAlways odd that here in the usa we are in winter while you down under are in summer. In florida we beat the heat with AC no other way round it! Have a Happy holidays!
ReplyDeleteYikes, that is pretty darn hot especially for a coastal city. It has gotten as high as 121 degrees (49C) here in Arizona but the normal highs in late July and August run around 48C. So, we do get some extremes here but it is usually very dry which helps a lot.
ReplyDeleteThe high 90s is pretty extreme around here in July. Every once in a while it'll reach 3 digits, but not often. It's 25 degrees F. right now. So, enjoy it... winter is coming for you.
ReplyDeleteLove the effects of the 41ºC on the photo! :-))) Great post.
ReplyDeleteextreme .. well .. so far we've had massive hurricanes and No'easters strike but the temps while seasonally cold are not so cold as to be hard to bear .. i hope that continues ..
ReplyDelete41 degrees, wow!! We consider it a heatwave if we have three days in a row of temperatures above 90 degrees F - about 32 degrees C. If we hit 105 it would be disastrous!!
ReplyDeleteAs I write this it is 16 degrees F. My daughter complained bitterly about having to wear her heavy winter coat this morning!
