Despite the dire predictions about the 'end of days' Christmas has been and gone, I hope yours was a good one, personally me and my extra five kilos (and that's being kind) are glad it's all over for another year, only 363 days to go.. yay! It's been a wee bit hot in Perth the last few days, 37C on Christmas day, I read somewhere that the 'comfort level' was 35C, hmm! there was nothing comfortable about it! The perfect cool down drink when it's hot is a long cold glass of Lemon, Lime & Bitters always hits the spot, and it's at times like this when I'm even more happy that I live close to the sea.....
You can go fishing with the boss.....!
Even if you're having 'words', there's plenty space to cool off with a swim....!
We played 'pirates'! A birthday present a few years ago for Aimee from her friends. Is 28 too old to be playing with blow up swimming pool toys? Ha that would be a resounding NO around here. It's a very close call as to who had the most fun, Aimee or the nieces and nephews. Did anyone brave the Boxing Day sales? Way too scary for me, also I'm very dubious as to whether you actually get a 'bargain' at these sales, I think the stores use it as a way to get rid of anything they haven't been able to offload throughout the year. What, me cynical... never haha! Although I may be brave tomorrow, might be worth a shot or two! Happy Thursday. take care....
Cloudy weather here, but it is not cold!
ReplyDeleteGrace, you had a very different Christmas than I did, but it is all good. That pink drink is beautifully photographed. I'll bet it went down smoothly, too. Be well!
ReplyDeleteGlad it's over too - have big plans for my five kilos plus to take a hike in 2013!
ReplyDeleteI am already over the heat - a succession of 40 plus degrees and we don't live anywhere near the ocean - the easterlies are a howling gale tonight so we will find our outdoor furniture in a neighbour's yard tomorrow - not looking forward to the next week. No to the sales - am already tired of the advertisements - don't people have enough stuff already?
Sounding a bit grumpy - it's the heat :)
Best to you ...
Sweet series of shots!loved them. Gotta try the bitters. Straight?
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic water toy that is! I think even I would enjoy playing with it. I'm with you on the Boxing Day sales. I'm staying out of the stores today.
ReplyDeleteThat just makes me feel cold :)) It's 9 degrees here, you evil woman :))
ReplyDelete(the LLB does look deliciouis though, Gracie!!)
I'll have a bit of the pink stuff. ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt's -5˚C here and windy and a snow storm supposedly heading towards us. Enjoy the warmth!
ReplyDeleteLast summer we had ONE day with more than +25C.
ReplyDeleteSo +35C must be very very hot!!
Thé pink drink looks just right!!
Enjoy!
What fun! We had the very same Pirate Ship and had loads of fun with the kids a few years back. Sadly the pirate ship came a cropper and now is Davy Jones Locker! hehe.
ReplyDeleteYou'll need more lemon, lime and bitters during the next few days as tempartures are going to reach 40+ in your neck of the woods according to the weather forcast. Definitely no boxing day sales for me to much mayhem.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year 2013, in the company of all your loved ones and friends!
ReplyDeleteHugs and kisses.
Beautiful, refreshing and fun pictures.
A nice series of fun shots. I think there are a lot of people who would trade places with you about now!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you had a fine holiday celebration! Stay cool!
37 degrees C??????? You live in another world! We get wet too here, but not in a swimmingpool ha,ha. When I am drowning I come over to Australia to get dry. Enjoy your summertime, our time will come sometime...
ReplyDeleteits snowing here .. just sayin' and at 4 pm-ish the day after the excessive eating that is Christmas Day Sicilian style i still havent had anything more than a cup of half caff ... sigh ... but one of these days i want to experience the heat of an Aussie Christmas ...
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great time! Wonderful! Have a great New Year Grace!
ReplyDeleteThat pink drink has me thirsty!
ReplyDeleteAnd here we've had a white Christmas!
A lemon lime & bitters that looks like it actually has some bitters in it? Ah, I see.... Margaret River.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your holidays and take care!
Ah! Christmas in Australia looks mighty inviting here.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, Grace! It was a great Christmas, but I'm ready to move on!! I love your captures for the day -- at least weather wise it looks a lot more inviting than it was here in Seattle and in Portland!! Glad you had a good one and that you're ready for a Happy New Year!!
ReplyDeleteHard to imagine your 'comfort level'! It is a bitter -13C with windchill here and there is a snow storm blasting its way through the city! I did get stuck in traffic on the highway towards one of the largest malls in Toronto this afternoon. Can't imagine what was so important that people wanted to go through that particular hell for shopping.
ReplyDeleteLong time no comment :(
ReplyDeleteI remember those lemon lime and bitters in the hot summer!
did you have a good Christmas?
Phew!!!! Hope you've stocked the 'fridge.
ReplyDeleteShopping on Boxing Day (although we don't use the term here) may be very different in the Southern and Northern Hemisphere. Went to the huge mall today near my sister's home in New Jersey, in the snow. Literal gridlock. Next time we'll stick with Amazon.
ReplyDeleteNice shots. That drink looks tasty!
ReplyDeleteCela me fait toujours bizarre de voir des images d'été à Noël. Mais, ce qui compte, c'est le bonheur du coeur.
ReplyDeleteTermine bien l'année, Gracie!
Gros bisous.
This post is joy to my heart, I'm also a little bit envious because the sunshine and summer looks so far away from my reality here :)
ReplyDeleteIt's cold and a rainy day today, better to go for a nap with little LUNA!
Happy Holidays and hugs!
Léia
Mmmm...that drink looks tasty and refreshing. I'm with you about the after Christmas sales. I venture out & brave the crowds once every few years -- that's enough for me. Hope it cools off for you soon!
ReplyDeleteA strawberry margarita would do for me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a summer feeling!
ReplyDeleteWhat a marvellous Christmas summer! Arianna
