Well there we were sprinting down Franklin St. to get back to the car before the rain came down in earnest, when I pulled up short at the sight of these two very old jags in desperate need of some (understatement!) TLC, and parked on the other side of the path this slightly more presentable MG. Taking a wild guess, the home of a very keen vintage car enthusiast without much spare time on his hands. Judging by the undisturbed pile of leaves out front it's possible they've been parked here for quite some time, maybe even since the 50's haha! Leederville is one of those close to the city older suburbs that is a mix of old and newly renovated houses, you never know what you'll come across here. I hope that you find something exciting in your day today and if not..there's always tomorrow! Take care.....
What a great find! It would be great to have those cars restored, in running condition and to own them!! If I cannot find something exciting today, I think I'll make my own excitement!
ReplyDeletede tres belles voitures, j'adore
ReplyDeleteMy favorite car! If I'm rich one day, i'll buy a Jag. The only car i'm really in love with!
ReplyDeleteGreat old cars indeed! I do hate to see them deteriorating, but then it's probably way, way too expensive to restore them these days! Yep, I'm like Kate, I'll probably make my own excitement! It's pretty quite here today, although it won't be later as people will be celebrating Labor Day! Now, since I don't work any more, I don't celebrate Labor -- just Fun!! Hope your week is off to a FUN start, Grace!!!
ReplyDeletethose were the days when makes of cars looked distinct from each other...and I could tell them apart! about the best I can do these days is "that's a car...that's a truck" hope whoever owns them has the time and money someday to restore them to their past glory!
ReplyDeleteI love spotting old cars like this - I'm vegging a bit today for Labour Day - maybe a walk later or maybe a movie instead!
CL
My excitement today consisted of going to the shopping center and purchasing some new stuff for projects...and recuperating from the exciting day yesterday when EVERYONE was here for the youngest grandson's birthday party...20+ people, 16 of them for dinner...whew! I am tired! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteAh yes, a man with more soul than heart! Great vehicles, and the MG looks like it might even be drivable.
ReplyDeleteI'll take 'em. I'm very partial to old Jags...
ReplyDeleteThose old cars are a nice find! Maybe whoever owns them didn't realize how much it would cost to restore them.
ReplyDeleteWell they are beauties despite their condition - good 'bones' as they say! That MG would also make many car enthusiasts' hearts flutter :)
ReplyDeleteThink I'll wait till we win the lotto (tomorrow???). No time for this, although I would love to do it!
ReplyDeleteWow! These are great. Would love to take care of them.
ReplyDeletefind these cars much more interesting than today's versions !
ReplyDeleteI'm with Luis Gomez, nice find, Grace!
ReplyDeleteIts a pity they are just left sitting there to rust away.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cars that would have rusted away if left in the UK so at least they have a chance of surviving..
ReplyDeleteThe MG is an odd looking beast. I hope they all eventually get restored.
ReplyDeleteI want to get my polishing cloth out on the beauties.... but I fear they need much more than a good buff!
ReplyDeleteI would be happy to take one off their hands.
ReplyDeleteWe do love these old cars!
ReplyDeleteAloha from Honolulu,
my friend

=^..^=
Love those...
ReplyDeleteWhat an extraordinary find! Some TLC would make these beauties extremely valuable.
ReplyDeleteAh ces vieilles voitures font toujours rêver!
ReplyDeleteBonne journée, Gracie!
My goodness Grace - what a superb find! No wonder you pulled up short!
ReplyDeleteTho those top two roadsters haven't seen gravel in a long time. Bet you they could tell a few stories.
ReplyDeleteThe first two cars seem rather well rusted! A sad state for such beautiful machines! The MG is certainly a contrasting statement of "being alive"!
ReplyDeleteI like that red one!
ReplyDeleteI would like to go for a ride!
ReplyDeleteI hope to find some excitement today. I will let you know if I do!
poor old cars ..
ReplyDeleteWhat a find! They should be in a museum.
ReplyDeleteIt's a pity that the 2 Jaguars and the MG haven't been restored! The MG looks to be quite drivable as is; the Jaguars - not so much...
ReplyDeleteelles ne roulent pas souvent : dommage
ReplyDeleteI hope someone does take car of those oldies. They look so nice!!!
ReplyDeleteI think those jewels would be worth putting back together! Yummy vehicles.
ReplyDeleteWorth money when put into condition, a bit like myself.....
ReplyDeleteoh la la, très chic! :)
ReplyDeleteLa voiture de nos rêves!
