Closing the gap...

Whenever I get the opportunity, as I did at the weekend, to take shots from the 13th floor of Aimee's office building, I can't get there fast enough, it really is the perfect spot to check on the progress of the Perth City Link project. Above, the Horseshoe Bridge which will still be the main access for traffic to and from Northbridge and the city, but whereas before the area between was taken up by the Fremantle rail line, now sunken below, this area is to be named Yagan Square and will be a major public space. Below you can just see the Perth Arena (my header pic) up there to the left. There's still a way to go but bringing the cultural aspects of Northbridge together with the business side of the city makes perfect sense to moi! Will keep you posted on progress. Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe...p.s. the windows in Aimee's building are designed in a way that I had to slightly lean out to take these shots, pretty brave huh :)

  1. Oh my, that is brave of you to lean out those windows. Whenever I do something like that I always have these visions of dropping my camera. There is a lot of work going on down there.

  3. Somehow puts me in mind of the old Drifters song:
"On the roof, it's peaceful as can be
And there, the world below can't bother me"
You're not going to venture up on to the roof next week, are you?

  4. It looks good; and I'm waiting with anticipation to see the finished project!

13th floor. You are braver than I. I don't think I could work in a building that tall of on any 13 floor!

  7. What a cool view Aimée! Is that a traffic jam winding down there? Took me two hours to get home tonight so I'm done with cars for today!

  14. Hard to get an understanding of this from photos but if you get a big new public plaza, all the better.

  15. Gosh Grace. There is so much construction going on. I wonder what the city will look like in 10 years time.

  18. At least someone didn't call the police, assuming that you were going to jump!
I like the urban view... that bridge is very odd in shape and would seem destined to create a bit of a traffic bottle neck.
