Upside down.. down-under!

The things people do for thrills.. and charity! I'll walk for miles to raise money for a good cause, but don't ask me to scale down one of Perth's highest skyscrapers, no way Jose.. would you? I confess these shots are from a few years ago but I thought they fit the 'upside down' theme perfectly, plus I enjoyed having fun with the title :) plus oh woe is me, hand to forehead, violins playing in background.. I've had icky flu :) Bit better now though, looking forward to seeing your interpretation of the theme today. Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe...

Couldn't resist :)

  4. Fantastic, and scary, pictures! Oi veh.

Funny, I had the same title for my post today; maybe I can think of something else before I publish it soon. But you're right, it's a great title. :) Be well.

  5. In two scenes you have depicted the sane and the insane. I need not, I think, point out which is which! :)

  6. A splendid take on the theme! There's a building here that does charity rappelling every year too.

  7. Yikes! I can't look! Hartford had a fundraiser like this last summer. I took pix, didn't rappel.

Sorry about the flu. Get better soon.

  8. Here I was thinking that you had all kinds of connections to be able to get these guys to do this just for theme day! (Ha!) That is one very scary photo. That poor guy that is hanging upside down looks like he's passed out. I would have! On second thought, I would never have attempted it in the first place. However, I do know several people who have done it. My friend Julie is one of them. Crazy I say!

  11. Not a job I'd settle for. I'd lose my lunch.

  12. Oh Grace I hope you feel better, I wouldn't like to be the upside down guy in the picture

  13. Your post is a great example of what people do for charity AND what crazy positions photographers adopt just to get that precious photograph. A good one. I too have had a long and lingering bout of the coughy flu. Strangely, it all miraculously improved once the school winter holidays began and after school reports were finished too. Maybe my flu was a form of stress. Hoping you feel heaps better.

  14. I'm not sure I could do something like that for any reason! Nice shots for the theme Grace. I hope you are feeling better.

  15. I'm with you, Grace--no way would I do that!

  16. In a way, any photo taken in Australia qualifies as upside down. I'd be with the people in the last picture.

  17. Just being up that high would be scary, but to do it anyway but up represents "foolhardy" to me. Love the bottom photo.

  18. Uh, by golly, Grace, 04:46 am and I have to see that! ;-)
But sure the pics fit perfectly to the theme! Esp the latter.
    Sorry you had the flu!
Finally summer here, 29C today, poppies are growing.

  19. Great pics for the theme. Very brave of those people to do that and braver are the ones that window clean at those heights too. I love the photo of the couple lying on the pavement taking photos, too funny!

  20. Excellent illustration of the theme !! :)

  21. Gosh Grace - that first photograph with the window cleaner absailing face down to the ground is scary. I don't know how they do it. Great capture.

  22. Some people do everything for a photo opportunity, even lying on the pavement!

  31. I don't know. I'm not scared of heights at all and have been known to do some brazen things on cliffs... when I was younger!!! Fab shots and glad that you are feeling better!

  32. The whole series of shots - amazing. Hope you are feeling much better!!!

  34. I'd be with the photographers on the ground. Window cleaning is definitely not work for me!

  35. Oh me, oh my. Abseiling is not for the faint/feint-of-heart. The two on the ground remind me of myself on the tall-ship. A much more comfortable seat!

  36. What a great AND unique posting.
I could never do this kind of work, but I could have gone down on the pavement to get some unusual images.

  41. Sure looks like a lot of fun! There were 2 girls in our rescue class in the fire academy who could not get it when it came to sliding from the roof of the training building. They always ended upside down. They earned the nick-name The Upsidedown Girls.
