It looks like winter has finally arrived! After a week of mild temperatures yesterday morning Perth awoke to a touch of frost and a chilly 1C, checking the temps for the week ahead it looks like 18C is the top max.. no rain though and lots of sun, how perfect is that! Somehow it seems the right time to show the outdoor ice rink set up in the Cultural Centre for the school holidays. After a successful first year Winterland is back bigger and better.. I might just have to hire me one of those cute little penguin buddies and get out there, what do you think.. would you like to see that :) Happy Friday, take care and stay safe..
That does look like a fun place!! Wish we would have had a place like that when my kids were growing up -- but in Montana even the one ice rink was indoors!! Winter was COLD!! But I did love it and it was a great place to raise kids. We had originally gone there because my Air Force husband was stationed there, but after he retired, we loved it there so much that we bought a home and remained until all of the kids had gone off to college!! What's with me this morning?? Reminiscing??? Ah, well, hope you have a wonderful, fun weekend, Grace!! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteI can tell your winters are much more pleasant than ours! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteGo for it, Grace. Bet they'll show you on that 'big screen' too :). Looks like fun.
ReplyDeleteSomehow it easier to recover from falling on ice when you are a kid, Grace! Now it just hurts!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, you have FROST??? I don't mean the inspector, I mean the cold thingy on lawns!!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI am surprised at frost, not sure why cause we had frost occasionally even in good old Rhodesia :-) Stay well. Diane
ReplyDeleteAnd now it's summer here...:) Arianna
ReplyDeleteSkating in Australia! Quite a sight, Grace!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool!
ReplyDeleteDo they have taller penguins for you? Sure we want to see!
Go for it Grace!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very nice outdoor rink. We've had one hear during our winter but it's not cold enough and it never looks as good as this one.
ReplyDeleteGosh it seems so odd to be in summer here in London and looking at pictures of an ice skating rink...
ReplyDeleteI never thought I'd see skating in Aus. So yes, I'd like to see you with a penguin buddy :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks like fun, but I'm a warm weather kind of guy.
ReplyDeleteI like the orange skate. Nice and colorful.
ReplyDeleteA great idea Grace and I'm sure kids will be having a ball. . Love those orange skates and the cute-as-cute penguin buddies.
ReplyDeleteLast time I tried was about 10 years ago - do a better job than me, Grace :-)
ReplyDeleteWee, 1C! Brrr. 9C now, tops 19C today, but summer is coming back, they say!
The penguin buddies are far more fun than pushing a chair around the rink!
ReplyDeleteThese days I try to stay off the ice, have ice only in cold drinks, or have four snow tires under me. We won't see any ice or snow for four months or more. Now that's a scary thought.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beauty. We've got a few ice rinks set up around Sydney too.
ReplyDeleteBelles photos ! Quelle température fait-il chez toi, 18 c° ? c'est le maximum car à Paris il a fait jusqu'à 39 degrés, alors cette belle patinoire n'aurait pas pu resté de glace !
ReplyDeleteBel été à toi !
Beautiful pictures! How warm is it at home, 18 ° c ? this is the maximum because in Paris it made up to 39 degrees, then this beautiful rink could not have remained ice!
Have a nice and good summer !
Bises- Cath.
18C is wonderful winter weather. Heck, it's wonderful summer weather where I live! The ice rink is fun, and I can understand why it's popular.
ReplyDeleteWow ... that looks like a lot of fun Grace but I don;t think I shall be trying it any time soon. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteFun for the young ones but I wouldn't trust my balance anymore. I used to skate as a teenager in Sydney but not since. Maybe with a penguin .............. You try first.
ReplyDeleteAround 30°C here: winter doesn't look so bad...
ReplyDeleteSo nice you have a winter wonderland, did you skate already? :)
ReplyDeleteNice sporty images, Grace !
ReplyDeleteI heard you get snow this weekend...? :)
I'm thinking it must cost a fortune to keep an outdoor rink frozen in Perth, but I didn't realize the temperature dipped to as low as 1°C sometimes!
ReplyDeleteAll that is missing is the snow. 18C during Winter that would be nice. We have November temperature at the moment.
ReplyDeleteGreat day photos of the ice-rink Grace. Not a bad winter when the sun is shining...
