It really is a dog's life! Notice the rather weighty yellow bag the lady is carrying above, mandatory when you arrive at the dog beach with your pooch, leave no evidence behind :) Yesterday was the first time in a while that I've been down to the dog beach and even though it's officially winter it's not all that cold. Was pleased to see that the sand dunes are still being protected. When I downloaded these shots the first thing that stuck me was the mellow light and pale blue sky, as opposed to the almost harsh blue of the summer sky, I like it..
That's more like a log than a stick :)
Shake if off.. shake it off!
You have to admire his determination! Aimee and I are heading into the city today, so much going on.. just for a change :) What are you up to this weekend, is the weather being kind to you? Happy Sunday, take care and stay safe...
Having just spent a few days by the seaside (I think I can say with some certainty) there is a familiar feeling about the look of your seaside shots and where we have been on the East Coast of England. The abundance of happy dogs being one. Those doggie bags being another :). Lovely shots!
ReplyDeleteIt has been 5 years since I have had a dog and a still find empty doggie bags stuffed deep in pockets of jackets! ;-)) We have gorgeous sunny weather this weekend and lots going on but I'm not sure what I will do tomorrow - working today!
ReplyDeleteOh, I do so miss my Sam Schnauzer!!! I haven't had the heart to get another dog and I would have to move if I did because my landlord doesn't allow them!!
ReplyDeleteLove your fun pics for the day!! Hope you and Aimee have a great time in the city!! Drink one for me!!
The dogs must have a ball playing in the surf.... just as long as there are no great whites in the neighbourhood!
ReplyDeleteAn amazing playing ground for these lucky dogs...
ReplyDeleteAnother reason why I don't own a dog. Just can't see myself carrying around one of those stinky bags.
ReplyDeleteMy three wild things would love that beach. They have to put up with our garden instead.I always have many doggie bags with me ...nothing more disgusting than stepping in some dog s...!
ReplyDeleteChez moi il fait très chaud et on vit au ralenti, une plage serait la bienvenue !

ReplyDeleteIt's very beautiful; your beaches remind me of our Atlantic coast beaches. And yes, do not leave evidence of your dog on the sand! Or anywhere else, for that matter.
ReplyDeleteThe doggies look happy--but then, I'd be happy too, if I were running on the beach!
ReplyDeleteWell, when it wasn't raining, I was hiking along the canal again.
ReplyDeleteMy days of carrying a bag of doggie doo are mainly behind me. But, I would have enjoyed being on that beach with you.
ReplyDeleteGrace, I was just thinking the same thing about the Winter light here in Far North Queensland, but I couldn't quite describe what it was. It has to be the angle of the Sun that creates a more dappled light. Is the red healer your pup?
ReplyDeleteNice photos. Make me miss my Rotties. (but not cleaning up after them)
ReplyDeleteYour winter looks like our summer. Maybe even warmer.
ReplyDeleteI like the soft blue skies too, must be quite welcome after the strong blue you receive for nine months of the year.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely beach for walking even on without a dog.
ReplyDeleteBut the joy of the dogs is fun to watch, they really enjoy.
Those dogs have a real pretty life there. I am glad I don't have to walk with a yellow bag behind my Sofietje. She does her thing on her own toilet :) We are still suffering a heatwave for the fifth day now, I am fed up with it. Thunderstorms on the way this afternoon, I think I will stand in the garden to welcome the rain.
ReplyDeleteThose dogs seem to be having so much fun on the beach!
ReplyDeleteA dog beach is a somewhat novel idea here, but, of course, in this area our "beaches" do not measure up to the expanse and size of the one you photographed here. The dogs are certainly enjoying the experience of sand, surf, and sea.
ReplyDeleteThat´s also whatI love about Perthies - the take the dog poo with them, very much unlike dog owners over here!
ReplyDeleteYep Grace, great weather, 35C, sunny!
The light is always better by the sea.
ReplyDeleteLovely shots.
... and soooooooo attractive too. Downside of dog ownership in a city. Yuk!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see people doing their duty. Many Germans (or at least Berliners) don't pick up after their dogs and it's so gross!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic series of photos. I love to see dogs frolicking in the surf. They really do love it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like these dogs are having a grand time on the beach. Many dogs love to swim and run in the sand. I would go walk on that beach if I were in the neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteI like people who clean up their doggy messes. And it's great to have a dog beach. I had fun doing a photo shoot with them last year running around the beach and in the water. Most of the people were really responsible with their pooches and it was great seeing all these people get together with their dogs and have fun. You and I live opposite weather extremes. I so envy your winter because our summer is unforgiving here! And I know it will be the opposite for you in a few months. The only difference is that you have an ocean nearby to swim in! So right now I hunker down in our A/C with the curtains closed! How anything can survive in this heat is beyond me???
ReplyDeleteI wish everyone would, and not only at the beach... I hate that beaches have to be cleaned of doggy poop and plastic and oh you name it it'll be there. Lovely atmosphere though!:
ReplyDeleteWinter light is really quite nice especially when the skies are blue. Yep, I wish ALL dog owners recognized it's their responsibility to clean up after their pets.
ReplyDeleteOr better yet leave your dog home! Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteSo good to see responsible owners, fantastic light on that beach Grace...
ReplyDeleteBeautifully composed and captured!
ReplyDeleteOoooh HApPY DaY!
ReplyDeleteLooks very nice both for people and dogs.
