There was a dove
and a parrot
Who arrived together
to have it
A breakfast
of seed
Shared peacefully
indeed
Was better than
eating a carrot..
Grace Forde.. with apologies :)
Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe...p.s. if I made you smile, my work is done :)p.p.s. and tres important, Happy Bastille Day celebrations

Oh, yes!! I am smiling and it is just what I needed this morning!! Thank you for the grins and giggles and what a great start for my new week, Grace!! Beautiful captures of lovely, colorful birds and the perfect words indeed!! Hope you have a great week, too!!!
ReplyDeleteI too have a big grin now, Grace!
ReplyDeleteYour work is done, then. :D
ReplyDeleteSuch a poet!
ReplyDeleteYou did indeed make me smile. Great little poem to go with two gorgeous photos. You are so lucky to have those simply amazing rainbow-colored lorikeets visiting you. That dove is kind of unique too. It's a different branch of the breed than the ones we have here.
ReplyDeleteQuite a pair to have around!
ReplyDeleteWonderful to see these characters together in harmony. The lorikeet colours seem to highlight the more subdued veauty of the dove.
ReplyDeleteBirds of a feather flock together.
ReplyDeleteBut if you don't feed them
They will eat all your heather...
What a curious dove! It seems to have guinea fowl feathers in its neck.
ReplyDeleteI smiled, indeed. Your shots are so sharp!
ReplyDeletealso smiled, and enjoyed seeing these two birds together, I doubt if they would normally be so close and freindly.
ReplyDeleteFab pictures, what amazing colours...
ReplyDeleteColorful little friend you have there.
ReplyDeleteLovely sharp images and a lovely limerick too!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful picture. you need to frame that first one!...Janey
ReplyDeleteThey are so beautiful! And the colors are brilliant...
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought this was Photoshopped. Then I realized this is the wonderful contrast in your fauna. Spectacular.
ReplyDeleteThere is a great message in this image Grace.
ReplyDeleteWonderful to have such colourful birds in your garden! As for your poetry, probably the least said the better! Mind you, what else goes with parrot? Tarot? I think not!
ReplyDeleteNice couple, Grace !
ReplyDeleteI want the parrot :))
Best chums. :-)
ReplyDeleteNice try Grace! I wouldn't have imagined a parrot and a dove would sit side by side. I have lots of doves "living" in my lemon tree.
ReplyDeleteYou definitively made me smile, Grace, thank you :-) Beautiful parrot!
ReplyDeleteHow I love the birds you photograph and show us. Love this pairing!
ReplyDeleteCaged Bird
BY MAYA ANGELOU
A free bird leaps
on the back of the wind
and floats downstream
till the current ends
and dips his wing
in the orange sun rays
and dares to claim the sky.
What a contrast between these two!
ReplyDeleteoh how lovely. Beautiful photos Grace, the detail is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThey're both beautiful! I do love birds of all kinds....
ReplyDeleteSmiles all around! One bird so elegant, the other so brash.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely different but both pretty in their own ways.
ReplyDeleteThey are a picture of beauty!
ReplyDeleteThey make such a nice couple!
ReplyDeleteWe had a marvelous Bastille day - firework at the Loire!
ENJOY your time away.
ReplyDeleteI have not visited in quite a while. Your photos are still the most inspiring.
