In years past when I walked the City to Surf it was all about making the best time! Now it's more about having the best time, checking out what's going on around and seeing things that I might not otherwise. Driving down Hay St. I've seen glimpses of the very pretty windows of Chandelabra and now if you look carefully there I am in the window :) The sign below, how ironic.. not a knight on a white horse for miles!
... and how about this for urban gardening.. these planters were on a third level rooftop garden. It looks like an excellent idea in theory but couldn't help noticing that the watering process made a bit of a mess of the paintwork.. what do you think 'highrisers' would you have them? Hope you have a fab Friday, take care...
Quite nice planters up there!
ReplyDeleteYes, I can see you in the window!
I agree, it's ALL about the journey. Now the planters? I think someone needs a better idea. :-)
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's good to simply walk around and enjoy what you see .. I like those planters !
ReplyDeleteAnother fun day!!! I do see you in the window! Well, the planters are colorful, but the water draining from them is making a bit of mess below them!! But, hey!! Whatever works! Hope you're getting ready for another fun weekend, Grace!! Enjoy -- and, of course, share it with us!!!
ReplyDeleteLove that first sign!
ReplyDeleteI see you!
ReplyDeleteSaving Grace, huh?
You sure made the most of your time capturing and sharing these great images!
ReplyDeletegeweldig ongemerkt een selfie.
ReplyDeleteNow why have you never told us that you had a shop??? :-) Love the name of the pink shop! I don't think I'd have noticed you if you hadn't said!
ReplyDeleteHa,ha, well seen your Saving Grace!
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's nice to slow down and look around - never know what you will see, Grace! A guy next door to us has planters like that on his 4th floor balcony but I don't thin they have drain holes or at least I haven't noticed water dripping.
ReplyDeleteI think those planters are an excellent idea as long as it doesn't hurt anything below. I love your Saving Grace sign....perfect. I wouldn't mind nosing around inside that shop.
ReplyDeleteNice flower pots on the railing. I haven't seen like these in my place.
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah! There you are. The goal of having the best time seems just like you, Grace.
ReplyDeleteI had the camera on the ground or sidewalk for the first two photos and for the third one I held the camera around my knees. I needed to do them that way in order to fit the entire houses into the scene; if I backed up, I would have had cars or utility poles or other distractions in the picture.
I think I see you in there Grace! You certainly got some interesting shots on this walk. Love the sign too!
ReplyDeleteYea! Grace needs saving.
ReplyDeleteI love it Grace, your name kind-of up in lights.
About time Perth began naming things after you, G!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comment. Life is being a gift to me,
but haven't we all tamed pain and appreciate sharing a
good recipe for same. . . Funny how the sweetness follows
pain some time. Your daily sharing is ALWAYS sweet, and lingers
in my thoughts throughout the day. . . . .

I like all of the signs and the planters on the rail.
ReplyDeletelove the top photo, it all matches! huh, i don't think the people on the level below the planters like that idea...the planter people are probably oblivious lol
ReplyDeleteThe second photo points out an exercise of futility. The pots may look nice, but to drip water, especially if it is dirty water, onto apartments below is a crime, in my mind. Oh, I sound grumpy today. I am not.
ReplyDeleteNot sure about the drippy planters. But I do like flowers. There should be a way to keep the green without the drip! Love your first shot too. Nice street scene. :)
ReplyDeleteThe city to surf must have been a wonderful day. Those planters would not be popular with the people living below.
ReplyDeleteI guess taking your camera along proves you were out to have a good time.
ReplyDeleteTempted to say it's nice to see you're in the pink; but I won't. If it's any consolation, my wife told me was waiting for a knight on a white horse to turn up and I came along on some kind of donkey...have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI see your reflection there Grace :) Like the store sign "Saving Grace" :) The views are nice (on the upper levels) in "high risers" but no one could pay me enough to live in one. I like being down here on terra firma where I can walk out my back door and sit under my big old live oak tree :)
ReplyDeleteFun post, Grace!
ReplyDeleteLove those pics, Grace, my Niece´d awww over the first for very sure!
ReplyDeleteLove the pink shop but not the planters.
ReplyDeleteEverything is very open with a really clear explanation of the issues.
ReplyDeleteIt was really informative. Your website is useful.
