Snapshot from the past.....
Last shot from my visit to the Fire Education Centre/Museum and my personal favorite even though 'technically' it's not the best . Have you ever been snapping away in a certain location and then just when you think you're done, you turn and WHAM you see an image that evokes all sorts of unexpected emotions. In your mind you can envision a scenario so clearly that it could be happening in front of your eyes. The fire bell clanging, the firemen who had moments before been relaxing, sliding down the fire pole, rushing to pull on their jackets and hard hat's all carefully placed in order on the hooks, I see the Fire Chief's hat off to the right, he would be issuing orders, not that they don't know exactly what to do, they've done it many times before and will do it many times again. Leaping onto Dennis, the fire doors open and they go flying out onto Murray St. on their way to do what they do best, save lives and put out flames! I think you might have guessed that I really enjoyed my visit to the museum, I hope you did also. Have a wonderful Wednesday.....

belle photo b&w, le choix du b&w lui donne un petit cote nostalgique que j'aime
ReplyDeleteTerrific image and corresponding text. You really made this photo come alive. I also like your choice with black and white. It gives more of an historical perspective.

I just signed up for my first photography class and am feeling a bit overwhelmed. Looking at this wonderful shot and thinking: "This is probably what the instructor wants us to be able to do... " ;-) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteThat's when the real photography begins; when you forget eveything else in the world and say "Hey, look at this!" Great image full of meaning.
ReplyDeleteThe word coming to my mind when seeing this is: quaint
ReplyDeleteA very profound photo...this would be a perfect "wordless" photo...no words needed! Great eye, Grace!
ReplyDeleteLooking at this I got a flashback from when I was a kid. My dad was a volunteer fire-fighter for 25 years. I remember him seeing him leaving in a hurry when the alarm call came in.
ReplyDeleteThis museum series is just great - great reds in every photo - you've done a wonderful job. However, this shot is also my favourite, it's so cool!
ReplyDeleteI certainly enjoyed it a lot. This kind of photo sort of conjures up images of 9/11... Yet I really like it!
ReplyDeleteI love this shot Grace! It works so well in B & W.
