If ever a building needed (t)arting up it's the Water Corp building in Leederville, no disrespect to the architects but it is a little functional :) I do sometimes wonder how architects feel about the huge, often unrelated to what goes on in the building, murals painted on their creations. In this case the murals are water themed.. wise choice. The pair of Ibis (water birds) above by Perth artist James Giddy who you've seen many times here, absolutely enhances and the giant wave covering three walls by traveling Chinese artist DALeast, see more of his work here, is spectacular in it's detail (so worth enlarging) I wouldn't be surprised if you've already seen his work in your city. Both murals are part of FormPUBLIC 2015. So much art so little time to check it out :) Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe.. p.s. thanks for all the lovely comments yesterday, catch up today!

I love them both, Grace1 You are right about enlarging the wave - fabulous!
ReplyDeleteSiphoning off the gas in that first shot, huh? :-)
ReplyDeleteGosh! Love these
ReplyDeleteALOHA from Honolulu,

The wave is fabulous, but I like also how the Ibis is pecking the motorcycle in that second shot :)
ReplyDeleteI just adore the swirly art! You made my day.
ReplyDeleteThey both look almost 3D, impressive!
ReplyDeleteThat wave is awesome! The bird in the second shot looks like it's about to siphon the fuel out of that motorcycle.

ReplyDeleteOh, and Happy (belated) bloganniversary ! Joyeux anniversaire depuis la France, chère Gracie !♥
Brilliant! Love them both!
ReplyDeleteThe first one could use a bit of color, but the second is absolutely fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous! Beautiful work. Love the wave.
ReplyDeleteBoth murals stand out beautifully!
ReplyDeleteOh, I have enjoyed this entire series, Grace!! So much beauty, color and talent!! Thank you so much for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteThese are both really cool, Grace. They seem to fit (and dress up) the plain architecture quite well.
ReplyDeleteReally like the ibis but am blown away by DALeast. Thanks for the link to his work. Beyond amazing. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
ReplyDeleteBoth great Grace, but the wave is amazing!!
ReplyDeleteGreat artistic work.
ReplyDeleteI like it.
I love the murals Grace. Those huge blank walls provide a great canvas. My favourite is that blue swirling whirlpool.
ReplyDeleteSo much going on - love these two!! Aren't we lucky, you are doing a great job.
ReplyDeleteI like those murals very much, appropriate to the place as well. Are you late or early for a Monday Mural on Wednesday? :)
ReplyDeletehaha the second one looks like he's stealing something off the motorcycle...so cute...i'm gonna just say it, the other one reminds me of sperm lol...sorry!
ReplyDeleteI like the birds but I love the wave! And you're right, the building is a little bland.
ReplyDeleteI very much like the James Giddy art!
ReplyDeleteAwwww, beautiful, both! If I was the architect I sure would be thankful someone took such good care!
ReplyDeletedangerous for the wheels of the bike
ReplyDeletelove the streams of water!
ReplyDeleteWorlds largest doodle - would love to see something like that made 3-d or in neon. Would cost a fortune though.
ReplyDeletebtw: (architects often hate us)
