With the warmer weather approaching.. 30C yesterday, 35C today.. roses are flourishing everywhere with gay abandon :) Here in my garden my favourite Floribunda Seduction below is experiencing a bit of stiff competition from my newest standard also a Floribunda French Lace above. The delicate French Lace wins as far perfume goes, but oh la! the colours of Seduction, c'est très très beau oui!
I couldn't resist sharing one of my funniest birthday cards..one of my best buds, possibly tired of my constant lament 'I have to lose that 5 kilos' decided she'd give me a solution, I just have to increase my height, hilarious :) Hope that you're having a good week, take care..
Fabulous roses and photographs, Grace!
ReplyDeleteThe cartoon made me smile, nice :-)
Such gorgeous roses, Grace, and I do agree with Karl, you captures are superb! Love the detail!
ReplyDeleteNow, as for the birthday card -- I needed one just like that and will need it even more next year when I turn 82!! Holy Cow, how on earth did I ever get so old???? Guess I haven't been paying attention to the calendar!! Hope your week is off to a great start!! Enjoy!
You obviously have a master gardener's touch.
ReplyDeleteBeauty and laugh ! a very positive post !
ReplyDeleteThe roses are gorgeous but, that birthday card gave me a good laugh. I've always said that I'm the perfect wait for someone 4 inches taller.
ReplyDeleteFrench lace? Seduction? You're getting me all hot and bothered on my return to the USA. (I used to grow French Lace, too, but I gave up on rose gardening and enjoy Elizabeth Park's roses as a proxy.)
ReplyDeleteThe first rose is brilliant with just a hint of pink, and if it has a great smell, all the better.
ReplyDeleteSuperbes roses ! Be careful when you learn to use stilts though Grace. They can be treacherous you know?!
ReplyDeleteI could almost smell those roses. ...and thank you. Now I know the problem ..I need to grow taller!
ReplyDeleteI have not picked out the courses yet. Crazy busy around here!!!
I love the French Lace, Grace! Cool card. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThere is just enough of a hint of pink in the French Lace to make it my favourite of the two. (not a fan of pink, to tell the truth)
ReplyDeleteThose are some really nice rose photos. I'll show them to my favorite daughter so she can do a painting. She loves painting roses.
ReplyDeleteAlso, a great picture of Grace on stilts.
Beautiful roses.
