Lunch in Leedy..

Described as 'urban but decidedly retro', Oxford Street in the inner city suburb of Leederville is a cool place to people watch.Which is what we were doing here looking out from Greens & Co. I get a bit fidgety when in such close proximity to the bookshops, boutiques and record shops along Oxford Street but both my purse and my home appreciate my new minimalist approach to life. That happened before I had ever heard of  Marie Kondo, there's minimalist and then there's OCD right! I'm definitely not the latter, I have waaay too many books :) Happy Sunday, take care and stay safe..

  2. Such a lovely area.

I limit the books I buy these days. Culling a pile of books is too painful. When I finish them, I donate them to the library.

  3. I'm a supporter of Marie Kondo's minimalist ideas:
I certainly shan't buy any of her four books!

  4. Having lived on a boat, we have a minimalist sense of what may be collected.... As always a pleasure to stroll with you, G

  5. Ah, this is something I'm working on, as I've collected too many things through the years. Time to share it/give it away but send it packing! I have to admit your posts always teach me, and when googling Leedy (before I read on) you'd be surprise how much comes up. The names of towns you share always get me curious and I have to know how they got their name. Pretty little town too.

  8. I am guilty of having too much stuff and find it hard to cull things but I'm working on it! I love the look of this area in your pics, Grace!

  9. Nice photos, Grace. We downsized a lot in the last 15 years. From Alaska to Oregon to Maine and then Ireland. We couldn't take everything and that was fine. Some tough decisions but now we live in a small flat at the old coast guard atation. Books we can find at the free wee libraries around the different towns we visit, the town libraries or in charity shops. The only books we buy are ones we want to keep. It makes life easier and the furniture whenever you live is always there so you don't need to buy any. We did buy some small pieces of art today at the castle in Donegal Town. :)
    Enjoy your day, Grace!

  10. When we headed north by train on Anzac Day a few years ago, I think Leederville is where we should have stepped off.

  12. Very cool place. I'm working on not wanting more stuff. I mostly succeed except when it comes to my crafting addiction. That's a challenge and I have four buddies who are co-dependents. No one knows how to say "enough already!"

  13. Now that does look like a great place for people watching. As for the minimist thing, I'm right there with you. I talked myself out of a lovely cheese serving tray just today.

  14. Hmmmm, Grace, just those two letters and I get hungry ;-)
Well, I try to throw out stuff, also and I try(!) to not buy. In a healthy way and not like crazy, though, too.

  15. People watching is so much fun...Great seeing them in action rather than posing...And yes...My habit of buying books and knick knacks has decidedly reduced over the last several years...But I think it could be healthy to cut some more...My bank account tells me...Love the 2 versions of the street in the first and last photos...

  16. I've never watched Marie Kondo, don't really need to but as for the record shops I wish those were still in fashion, in fact I still have 2 of mine from the early 80s.

  17. I reckon it is impossible to do Marie Kondo on books ... nearly all books spark joy.

  18. Leederville is always fun. I have far too much stuff collected over 38 years but I've been slowly getting rid of a few things.
