It's definitely not the only way to pass through from Hay St to St Georges Terrace.. but as far as I'm concerned walking through Trinity Arcade is the best way.. three guesses why :) The arcade, history here, built in 1923 is so Art Deco it makes my head spin. Here last week looking ever so elegant in it's Christmas adornments. Although a mixture of styles the bold geometric lines fit my sense of minimalism to perfection! I purposely waited until the arcade was free of people distracting from the details:) Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. I apologize if I've shown the arcade before but I never can resist taking more!
All very classy and elegant, a distinct contrast to the hustle and bustle of modern shopping.
ReplyDelete...back when shopping was an adventure.
ReplyDeleteI like the look of the place.
ReplyDeleteI will never tireof your photos of the arcade, PDP. Love them!
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish we had a shopping arcade like this here in Phoenix. When I visit London and Paris I seek them out as important destinations. Years ago when I visited London with my friend David, we stopped in to a jewelry store in the Burlington Arcade so I could get a closer look at a necklace I saw in the window. It turned out that the necklace was frightfully expensive so I couldn't purchase it but, they did let me try it on. I wonder who is wearing it now. I hope it has a good home.
ReplyDeleteWhere shopping becomes an event not just some exercise in a mall. A beautiful and exquisite place.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous place, Grace!
ReplyDeleteGoing down to -18˚C here tonight!
The top poto is exquisite and I readily understand why you love this one. I like to visit arcades but had to smile at the differences when I visited one in Paris and the other at GEM in Moscow in the early 90's. Love the tiled floor.
ReplyDeleteIt's just wonderful. We loved it.
ReplyDeleteI adore Art Deco design and would enjoy a stroll through here!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteThis is oh so beautiful, irresistible to photograph. I love those arched ceilings and the gorgeous details. The second shot reminds me of the passages in Paris, something I truly love.
ReplyDeleteUma beleza este centro comercial.
