I read somewhere that the average life-span of an Aztec warrior was 37 years.. unless of course you purchase an immortal warrior as seen here on the antique strip in Guildford. I'm finding it a little difficult to imagine exactly where this larger than life ancient warrior would comfortably reside :)
I definitely wasn't tempted by the 'pull my finger' chef below.. although he would without doubt have generated much indelicate conversation :) Only two more sleeps until I head over to Sydney to celebrate my granddaughter's third birthday.. an annual event that I both look forward to and dread at the same time.. thankfully the joy of seeing my Sydney famille vastly outweighs the fear of flying! Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe...
The Aztec would look good just outside your front door. You could hang signs on his arm indicating where or not your were home, whether or not you were taking visitors, people that you would never invite in and should leave immediately, etc.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy trip. Flying ain't so bad. It's the lousy food that makes it a lousy experience!
So glad to hear you weren't tempted by either of these! I'm confident you're not that desperate for conversation. : )
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine where one would put either of those characters but, I did enjoy Lowell's comment above. Have fun on your trip to Sydney!
ReplyDeleteThere is a definite theme in your posts lately, Grace!
ReplyDeleteI hate flying too but the rewards of getting there outweigh the fear.
You are perfectly safe flying.
ReplyDeleteDid I not send you something about that?
Flying is safer than crossing the road!
The Aztec and the chef might be fun company but I wouldn't have bought them either ;)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your trip, don't worry as flying is a lot safer than driving a car!
Adore the shadowy streetscape in the second photo. Hope you have the very best time in Sydney...as I am sure you will.
ReplyDeleteSuch characters look fine where they are so you can photograph them. Try to enjoy your plane trip just think of where it is taking you, Have fun!
ReplyDeleteThe warrior is quite big, as is the chef. The chef looks life size.
ReplyDeleteYou should have taken him home.
ReplyDeleteI can hardly believe your granddaughter is already three Grace! I know you will have a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to have that handsome Aztec standing by my front door just to shock all the little old ladies that live on my street.
ReplyDeleteSay hello to Sydney for me!
...we need to thin out, not buy more stuff!
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Those swings look comfortable though. Hope the weather cools off for you.
ReplyDeleteIt sure must´ve been tempting, Grace, to not take them home! Good luck for an uneventful, safe trip - enjoy your family. Weee, 3 years old already - time sure flies! Wee One turns three come October, too! Haven´t seen her this year (maybe today). Sixty km can be long when family is always busy... so sad.
ReplyDeleteGosto muito destes olhares fotográficos.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e boa semana.

I think that warrior would look perfect right outside the door of my office. :-)
ReplyDeleteIf you have an attic you could always dump it up there.
ReplyDeleteHave fun in Sydney! Always lovely to see the family.
ReplyDeleteLoved the post and pics :))
ReplyDeleteI like that last one, looks a guy to remind you not to eat to much! Happy birthday time with your granddaughter. And that flying, just close your eyes and listen to nice music, before you realise, you have reached the destination :)
ReplyDeleteI would be tempted by that swing chair or the wicker chairs...
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time in Sydney, time flies, your granddaughter already going to be 3!!
Wishing you fun and safe flight - and NO life-size figures for your house, LOL
ReplyDeleteOh Grace,
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful trip. My four year old Hannah will be here with me for a whole week soon. Can't wait. Maybe that cheif is where is is because someone else had the same question.
Oh my gosh, you take us to the greatest of places! I just adore this life size chef too. Sometimes I'm tempted to buy or make something like unusual and plop it in the center of our yard, just for people to wonder, why the heck did they do that?! Is that silly?
ReplyDeleteOf course just one odd thing at a time. I say that because there are some folks in a favorite neighborhood of mine that fill up their yard with so much, well junk!
DeleteEnjoy your visit with your grand daughter. I visit my two grandkids in a week, but I drive for 3 1/2 hours each way. It's worth it.
ReplyDeleteThat is a problem- where on earth could that warrior go?
ReplyDeleteNot tempted to buy that fellow in the last shot? How can that be?
ReplyDeleteJust kidding. Enjoy Sydney. I know I would!
That Aztec bears a similarity to a Spartan.
ReplyDeleteI kind of like the Aztec Warrior, but if it was sitting in my house, I'd probably be more than a little creeped out by it.
