"...careful the morning lest it wake from slumber the city
half-encumbered by the morning mist..." John Geddes.
After a 7.05am appointment earlier this week.. peak traffic time on the freeway meant I had to set off just after 6am (see last shot) and even then I juuuust made it :) The reward for my before sun-up jaunt was a stop in at Kings Park on the way home in time to enjoy the spectacle of low clouds swirling through and around the tops of the city skyscrapers. Early morning is the best don't you think! Happy Friday, take care and stay safe... P.s. bit different from last two colourful posts :)
Wonderfully dramatic!
ReplyDeleteNice moody image! Early morning is the best if you can get up :)
ReplyDeleteI missed some serious dramatic cloud on the way home tonight, a thouderstorm. You could see it heading towards the village I live in and the rain coming down along with forked lightening. Got soaked when I got out the car to go in the house.
ReplyDeleteI like encumbered, but perhaps driving!
ReplyDeleteI am never thst early up anymore, but I can see it can be worth to be out at that time.
ReplyDeleteGrace, those low clouds do make for dramatic cityscape photos. You did well to stop in the park for these shots.
ReplyDeleteI like all three of these but that first shot has something special; some mysterious, almost haunting aura, a feeling that something big is about to happen, perhaps something bad, but no one knows what to do about it. Frame it and hang it!!!
ReplyDeleteThat misty shot is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI hate getting up early but it always feels magical when I do, Grace! Nice moody shots!
ReplyDeleteThe city skyline from that direction is forever burnt into my memory.
ReplyDeletePretty pictures Grace and definitely worth getting up early for!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos.1st pic Amazing.
ReplyDeleteGreetings
A good reason to get up early....
ReplyDeleteGreat images.
That first image is superb, Grace !
ReplyDeleteKings Park take away the stress of the freeway!
ReplyDeleteSuperb first photo!
ReplyDeleteGreat captures Grace. I'm not much of an early riser, I just do it for work...
ReplyDeleteAlmost like a mysterious dream to awaken our hearts and souls, with the inner beat of the city! Beautiful captures for us to linger about!
ReplyDeleteI love all three, but the second one is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteOh, my, Grace, looks as grey as over here!
ReplyDeleteI take off at 05:12 am on workdays - and the "sun" is out and about, when she´s there. That, too, I love about summer!
I love seeing the clouds hanging low over the tall buildings so these photos are perfect. I agree about early morning. In fact, I'm sitting outside writing this. I'm taking advantage of cooler weather early in the morning by taking my laptop out to the patio to do my blogging. In a couple more weeks it will be too hot in the am to do even that.
ReplyDelete"The early bird. . ." Your early morning jaunt gave you excellent images to photograph.
ReplyDeleteThe morning mist is lovely.
