It's officially the first day of winter in Australia and it's getting a wee bit nippy early morning and as the sun goes down, I like it a lot! June 1st theme for CDP bloggers is 'Shadow & Light'. Couldn't decide and as I'm heading over to Sydney for the next week I'll leave you with four to check out. Above the early morning sun rising up behind the pinnacles of St. Mary's Cathedral. Aimee is the perfect 'muse', she's extremely patient but throws me shade, below right, when she's had enough :)
Below 'garden-nymph' Aimee! It's so much fun playing around with double exposures. I enjoyed the contrast between 'happy to help Mum' to 'enough already Mum' in both shots :)
I took the shot below back in April before the sun came up as we arrived in Kings Park for the Anzac Day Dawn Service. Although this is my last post for ten days I'm definitely stopping by at CDP headquarters tomorrow to check out your take on the theme. When I return I will be 'Gigi' to a second grandchild, how exciting is that right! Happy next ten days, take care and most of all stay safe.. à bientôt! p.s. did you notice I didn't mention how terrified I am about flying... oops just did :)

Your choices are exceptional, Grace! The last one's my favourite.
ReplyDeleteSafe journey to you. Think good thoughts on the plane. Don't watch Alive as the in-flight movie.
G, I love these works. Happy Winter
ReplyDeleteGreat images Grace! My wife loves winter and says YAY to ya. Have a safe trip and try to relax.
ReplyDeleteI really like that last one! Best wishes to you as you go tripping to visit your family and its newest member!

ReplyDeleteMagical play of light in these images. Aimee is a grand subject. She looks so beautiful. And adore the mystery of light and shadow in the last scene.
ReplyDeleteVery clever shots of Aimee. Happy grandmothering.

ReplyDeleteGreat images and my favorite is the last one!
ReplyDeleteWe're just finish up planting our garden , in North Idaho.
ReplyDeleteStill looks like there plenty of leaves on the tree. Do the tree loose there leaves there?
Coffee is on

ReplyDeleteGrace, this is a series of beautiful photographs, one more interesting than the other one!
ReplyDeleteaimée is so pretty on all shots
ReplyDeleteI love all your mum shots, you are two beautiful girls, mother and daughter of course, runs in the family right?! Great photos and happy first day of winter for you!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the thumbnail of the top photo I thought you'd been over to Thailand and shot some wats. How much more European in close-up. Can't have more contrast than this.
ReplyDeleteAs you go into winter ... we go into summer!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo's Grace!
All the best Jan
How clever, Grace, all of them. I could not choose between your top and bottom photos for the highlight and shadow theme . . . both are excellent. And, look at you learning how to superimpose one image over another! You are altogether too clever.
ReplyDeleteAnd, becoming grandmother a second time? I'm jealous. Congratulations. I hope all goes well.
Wow, creative, artistic and great images!
ReplyDeletePerfect for Theme Day posting too.
Love your use of reflections here Grace. Very effective use of light and shade.
ReplyDeleteThey are all great!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos Grace! How exciting about grandchild...I'll be thinking about you as you fly...as you may remember I HATE flying too and refuse to ever do so again. Another of the many reason I live only a few blocks away from my son and his family :D :D :D
ReplyDeleteI love these images!! Winter is my favorite season :) unfortunately it is still 6 months away here in Germany.
ReplyDeleteLovely images!
ReplyDeleteLove the second and third images Grace, very smart...
