How often do you see this right in the centre of a city! When we first arrived early there was one gentleman fast asleep in a bright orange deck chair in the 'chill out zone' in Forrest Place. Perhaps he sat to read the paper while his wife shopped, I did take a shot of him from the front, the paper couldn't have been that interesting, he was fast asleep :) As we were leaving the city a few hours later it was a much busier scene. With the hot weather we're having this is an excellent arrangement where mums can have a coffee or lunch from one of the many eateries around the square while watching the kids cool off in the water labyrinth.. nice one Perth, summer fun in the city! Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe.....

I can definitely see that waterworks being an appealing location on a hot humid day....
ReplyDeleteI love the image of the kid on the scooter. Classic !
ReplyDeleteWith two more inches of snow this morning and temps still below freezing, this is a VERY attractive scene. :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is another fine example of the things that make Perth such a fun and liveable city!
ReplyDeletePerth has so many attractions!
ReplyDeleteI wish I were there...it's so cold, gray and ugly here....
ReplyDeleteI'd be tempted to head into the water too, Grace!
ReplyDeleteI have to confess, I wish we had something like this but I think there's no chance of it ever happening in Versailles. Hope you got wet! :-)
ReplyDeleteWe have some benches in front of the hardware store but nothing like that, did you set a spell?
ReplyDeleteWow, this is in the center of the city? So lovely, what a great idea. Here in Trapani our center consists of a few shops and cafès...really exciting:)
ReplyDeleteHow great this looks. I can't tell you how much I would love to be in Perth right now. It looks so warm and inviting.
ReplyDeleteThe fountains are just brilliant for hot kids, the modern equivalent of a lawn sprinkler at home. Melbourne had one but it was shut down.
ReplyDeleteTwo great shots of that amazing mirth that IS Perth!
ReplyDeleteALOHA from Honolulu
Comfort Spiral
=^..^= <3
I would rather just sit right there and people watch than shop. My grandkids would love the water!
ReplyDeleteWe have that type of fountain downtown Ft Worth in our new Sundance square. it too is a fun place to hangout.
ReplyDeleteReally nice one and hats off to both you as photog and Perth as city - I love seeing these urban 'retreats' & folks are obviously enjoying it! (I remember that cool cactus too:). Stay cool despite the temperature!
ReplyDeletePerth is SUCH a cool city!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! Just the thing to cool off in the hot city.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great place to people watch.
ReplyDeleteA very Cool place for a summers day in more ways than one Grace.
ReplyDeleteVery nice place :-) Great photos!
ReplyDeleteSo cool...
ReplyDeleteI think I could stay a long time sitting here in the shadow, looking at the water. And yes, maybe , finally fall asleep, rocked by the sweet music of water.. :o)
ReplyDeleteI hope the sleeping man was well under an umbrella, wouldn't want a nasty sunburn! This is a nice idea though, making a cute and relaxing place to get away from the heat.
ReplyDeleteMust be the perfect place to be.
ReplyDelete(No woolen clothes:-)
Cool!
ReplyDeleteAwww, that truly is a sweet idea with the deck chairs!
ReplyDeleteOh, how I miss that place right now, Grace, you have no idea....
He really was asleep?! Oh, my! :-)
Oh, my!
What a great idea someone had of putting deck chairs around that area, perfect for the parents while the kids cool themselves down!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great spot! Somebody has come up with a good plan and it makes for a great photo. Stay cool, Grace :).
ReplyDeleteIt looks like there is something with a cactus motif shape in the background.
ReplyDeleteThis kind of made me laugh because I fell asleep yesterday afternoon while sitting in my back yard. I must have been really tired because that iron chair I was on wasn't that comfortable. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love fountains like the one here. It's so much fun to watch the kids play in it.
